I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
A – identify the verb in a sentence whether it is action word or state of being;
- Analyze the sentence by transforming the verb into its proper tense;
B – EN7G-IV-c-5: use verbs when giving information and making explanation
through think – pair – share;
C – express thoughts and ideas by giving explanation and information through
dyad.

II. LEARNING TASKS:


Topic: Verbs
Reference: English Time: 4th Quarter – Grade 7 pp. 28 and 29.
Materials: Marker, Cartolina, Visual Aids
Concept: A verb is a word that expresses action or a state of being. The learners
are able to distinguish the two kind of verbs into its usage.

“VERBS”
- A verb is a word that expresses action or a state of being. The definition tells
us that there are two kinds of verbs: Action verbs and state of being verbs.
1. Give us some example of action words based upon the pictures presented.
2. What do we call those verbs?
3. There are also verbs in a sentence that doesn’t express any activity at all.
What do we call them?
4. Give us some example of state of being verbs/ linking verbs in a sentence.
o It was raining.
o I am a fan of Lebron.
