CORE SUBJECT DESCRIPTION:

The course introduces the learners to basic understanding of media and information as channels of communication and tools for the development of
individuals and societies. It also aims to develop students to be creative and critical thinkers as well as responsible users and competent producers of media
and information.

AUDIENCE: This subject is intended for Grade 11 Senior High School students as a core subject in their curriculum.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the course, the students should possess functional knowledge across a range of learning areas and technical skills in chosen career
tracks with advanced competencies in communication; scientific, critical and creative thinking; and the use of technologies. Have an understanding of right
and wrong; one’s history and cultural heritage; and deep respect for self, others and their culture, and the environment.

LEARNING EXPECTATIONS:
At the end of the course, the students should apply basic concepts of media and information technology as a channels of communication, use as a
tool for the development of individual and societies as well as become creative and critical thinker, most importantly, become responsible user and
competent producers of media information.
