NARRATIVE REPORT

Five months ago, I was given three options under the components of
National Service Training Program (NSTP), and I chose Civic Welfare Training
Services. Looking back on what I had experienced under this course, I could say
that it was all worth it. This course had taught me a lot of life lessons and more
importantly, it helped grow as a person.

The first few weeks were all about classroom discussions. Our teacher
had shown her effort on sharing her knowledge and wisdom. Through this, we
had learned about the importance of being aware of the status and crisis of our
society. Moreover, realizing that we could do something in order to aid help and
find a solution for the problem. It was an eye-opener about the current situation
of our country. Aside from the creative and helpful discussions, seminars were
conducted which raised our awareness particularly, in disaster preparedness,
and first aid actions.

Thinking about it looks like it’s just a simple but in reality, it was really hard
to take action but actually fulfilling to do so. An immersion was conducted to
experience it at first hand and put into application the discussions we had inside
the classroom. It had given us the opportunity to have an actual experience on
applying all those knowledge that we had invested through our discussions.

Our project was tree-planting in bottles, recycling used bottles and

planting vegetables which can benefit the members of the baranggay. It was a
fun experience for me, doing things that I know would be beneficial to others is
so fulfilling. Conducting our immersion made me realize few things, we had been
abusing mother earth, the nature. It is given that we are aware of it but our
activity made me contemplate that I can actually do something about it. Even in
little actions it would still count.
