WEEKS 14-16 Final

Objectives
• Create an original composition incorporating pattern and color,
based on analysis of recognized masterworks.

Assignment 23
• Select contemporary masterworks from two of the following
creative fields, subject to the approval of professor: graphic
design, architecture, interior design, painting, sculpture, film,
photography.
• Analyze the visual elements and principles within each.
• Create a process involving thumbnails, rough sketches,
texture studies, pattern studies, color studies, etc. that will
result in a final 6”x9” composition in acrylic inspired by the
investigation of the masterworks, but uniquely your own. It
must incorporate pattern and color.
• Note that the grade will be based on the final composition,
documentation and organization of your process, depth of
your investigation, and overall craft.

Prepare a verbal presentation that describes your exploration
process, the use of elements and the principles that guided your
decision-making, and the development of your final composition in
one-minute or less.
