Self Assessment

Attendance​: 2.8
I thought my attendance was pretty good, with many areas for improvement. I attended all
classes and was on time for each class, which is expected of me. I was attentive in each of the
classes and took notes on paper as if I were sitting in a classroom. I did not attend office hours,
this semester which is a major downfall in my attendance score.

● Strengths
○ Was on time to class and very attentive
○ Attended MOST (had to miss one due to personal reasons) MMG meetings, was
on time and was very active in those

● Opportunities For Improvement

○ Show up to class 10 minutes before it starts
○ Attend office hours and actively get feedback from Friedman
○ Don’t show up right as the Zoom call is starting (cuts it too close)

Communication​: 2.9
My communication skills were definitely stronger this semester. I believe my emails showed
more of my personality and voice throughout than they ever have been before. I always
formatted my emails based on conventional formatting procedures. I also communicated well
with my MMG group and was active in our texting group chat.

● Strengths
○ Renamed all attachments in my emails
○ Used correct email format in all of my emails
○ Used my voice and personality in MOST of my emails to Friedman, as well as
outside of the class
○ Strong email tag created and used

● Opportunities For Improvement

○ Check-in more with Friedman about the quality of my work
○ Overcommunicate even when there aren’t active things to communicate about
○ Continue working on my tone and style of email to make it even more reflective of
my personality and branding
○ Constantly be iterating on my branding and tone

Deadlines​: 2.7
I was good at ​most​ of the deadlines for this class, and I really fought to make sure I had things
in on time (with a few exceptions). I did have a couple of assignments turned in late or not at all
including the first hidden syllabus assignment and the not-a-stick assignment.
Strengths:
● Most assignments turned in on time and on the right day
● Tried to fight my deadline gap in order to make sure I was on time for assignments

Opportunities for Improvement

● Start assignments even earlier and follow through with them
● Write down all of my due dates so that I am on top of them before they are due
● Give myself more time to create and fail. I rushed through some assignments just to get
it done.

Participations​: 3.4
This semester was a huge difference in my participation compared to 252. I was able to create
things for Live Better and use the tools for my other classes. I actually worked on the tools
outside of class, and it was something that was new/uncomfortable for me. Although I am not
one to be the loudest or first to speak in class, I still fought to try and use the concepts in my
everyday life. I kept my camera on and was actively listening/involved in the classes.

Strengths
● Worked on tools/heuristics outside of class, went above what I needed to for this class
● Participated in my MMG group meetings fully, encouraged my team to use the tools
when we were stuck on what to do next
● Used email tone and format in my other classes/work

Opportunities For Improvement

● Capture ideas on the fly with my notebook at all times
● Consider when my gremlin and VOJ come out during my work so that I can recognize it
more
● Go to office hours more, even if it is for a small question or I don’t have much to talk
about coming into it
● Speak up more during class time
