Compare and contrast of the speeches:


Hilary Ben:

He cautiously told the president that he should be sorry for what he did so that he can get the
attention of the members who has the same point of view. He gave the speech on Daesh attack
on Syria and what will happen after ward that what will happen if Daesh attack on them. He told
that they have passed the resolution to take all the measures to protect civilians of our country
and other country from the terrorist. he gave the idea to rebuild Syria after the war. He is telling
the others member that terrorists are dominating our respect and tolerance and our democracy
that’s why we have to do something, we should protect Syria to stay together to Syria. If we
don’t help what will be our solidarity to other countries.

He is awakening the members that it would be us instead of Syria. He gave the examples of some
attack that could be happened here and it could happen with our own children. He is convincing
the speaker to take the action by giving the example of same president wo said that we are save
from attack because of British and of our own struggle. He said that some members have
arguments not to take action now but it is our responsibility to take action because the threat is
now.

JK Rowling:

In her own speech she shared her feeling what she had known at time of her own graduation to
make a connection with the students. In her speech she had motivational tone when she shared
her two very important lesson of her life.

She shared her story of her past how her parents forced her to study the subjects she didn’t want
to study. Her parents don’t want her to be poor like them but her fear was not poverty it was
failure. During this she had very emotional tone. Life is not checklist of your achievement. her
failure was dark time from which she took lessons and did what she wanted.

She used a little bit of humor so the students don’t lose the interest from listening.

She told the students to make good connection with all the others in their remaining life. People
can affect other life only by their existence. The responsibility for others, the way you choose to
live, if you choose to raise your voice for the people who do not have the advantages then your
existence will be proud. Humans are able to understand things without being experienced. Life is
a tale what matter is how good it is, not how long it is.

She told about her friends how good they are and how they were there when she needed them.
She was great full for having friends like them.

Compare and contrast:

 He was critical talking about what their president did.


 He was sensitive by giving example of the attacks that attracts their attention to consider
on this movement.
 He used awakening motives to convince the members to vote for this bill, that the time is
now to do something.
 She is motivating the students for the desire of success and learn to face the failures.
 She had empathetic mood when she told her life experience when she was working in
African laboratory.
 She was appreciative for having all what she needed in life and for having good friends.
She was jolly while talking about her friends.
