“BE ALERT”

The topics of the videos that I watched has been introduced with necessary concepts of Disaster
Readiness and Risk Reduction information. One of the videos that I also watched was summary
or the story of Noah. According to the story that the grandpa worm said Noah was a just man,
and walked with Heaven. God ordered Noah to create a chest that he, his sons, and their wives,
with the men and women of every creature would be rescued from the floods, because the world
was corrupted and filled with abuse. Meaning, everyone of us should be alert all the time because
we do not know what happened next into our lives, so be alert and ready for the everything.

The next video that I watched is the comparison between the hazard and the risk. According to
the video, a hazard is something that can cause damage, such as electricity, explosives, a ladder,
noise, a keyboard, workplace bullying, tension, etc. The risk is a probability to get high or low
chances of harm, that any danger would actually cause harm to anyone is a risk. For example,
gas and candle, you should dispose properly or to manage properly those hazardous chemicals
because it can cause fire that can lead into danger. Therefore, be responsible of everything and
stay safe as always.

Lastly, the final video that I watched was all about disaster. Disaster can happen at any time,
often with little to no warning. Mass destruction could leave you cut off for days from the
outside world. We need to get prepared. To survive and recover from a disaster, being ready for
any disaster is necessary. Being prepared will reduce the disaster-accompanying fear, anxiety and
losses. People can also minimize the impact of disasters (flood proofing, elevating a home or
moving a home out of the way of damage, and securing things that could shake loose in an
earthquake), and often fully escape the risk. And lastly, we can use the following formula;
Disaster risk = Natural Hazard x Vulnerability over Capacity of Societal System.
