Welcome to the first
newsletter for the 2018/2019
season.
Thank you to everyone who
attended the AGM last month.
Congratulations to the very
lovely Clive Nyquist who was
awarded the Isobel Goss Cup
at the AGM. Clive was also
appointed to the committee
as SADS Set Designer at the
AGM so a double celebration,
well done Clive.
We are pleased to announce
that we raised over £680 for
our nominated charity
Rowcroft Hospice, thank you
to everyone who has helped
to raise funds for such a
worthy cause over the past
season. As a Society, we will
continue to raise funds for
Rowcroft as they have been
selected as our charity for this
season too.
At the AGM members agreed
to put up our ticket prices to
£7.50 for adults and £5 for
Children (under 16). The cost
of a Season Ticket is staying
the same so if you or anyone
you know would like to join
SADS as a Season Ticket
Holder for the 2018/19 season
for the absolutely amazing
price of £21 please contact the
Season Ticket Holders’
Secretary.
We have some new
committee members on board
for the 2018/2019 season and
a brilliant selection of shows
lined up for both our audience
and members alike. Peter
Mead has taken on the role of
Treasurer and Andy C and
Eileen P have now joined the
committee as general
members.
The SADS Annual Quiz took
place last month at the Devon
Dumpling. Team Tremayne
topped the leader board again
this year, well done to them
and thank you to everyone
who came along to support
the event.
CHANGE OF DATE
To avoid a clash with
England’s World Cup semi-
final game our next summer
event, the Treasure Hunt, will
now take place on Tuesday
17th July; we have opened the
event up this year to any and
all interested parties. We
meet at the Devon Dumpling
from 7pm - £1 entry per
person plus £2 per car. A cash
prize is available to the overall
winner.
The Society are hosting an
archive afternoon on July 21st,
further details about this
event are on the last page of
this newsletter.

The Dressing Room – Gossip & Funnies

Thank you to two of our members John R and Richard A for
putting together a fantastic display of flowers for the
Flower Festival weekend at St Johns Church last month.

Their task was to put together a flower display detailing our next show Hi De Hi and they
created a wonderful staging, for those who missed the event itself see the pictures below.
Over 150 people attended the Flower Festival so hopefully we will generate some new
members from the event.
