Joker - Extension

This part explains how you can extend your shawl to a yarn length of 900 m (appr. 984 yard) or more.
Before you work this addition you have to crochet the pattern „Joker_600m“ first. All crochet
abbreviations and general hints you´ll find in the mentioned original pattern as well.

Step 5: Extension

You work this step directly after row 63 of the original pattern. I´ll explain the first three rows of the
extension and in the following I´ll give the outline how to proceed.

From this point onwards you can extend the shawl to every desired size. You can use as much yarn as
you want. When you have reached a size that suits you, you can stop at any row.

Row 63: 4 tch, skip 1 st, (1 dc, ch 1, skip 1 st) 18x, [(1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc) in next 2 sts, (ch 1, skip 1 st,
1 dc) 19x, (1 dc, ch 1, skip 1 st) 19x] 4x, (1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc) in next 2 sts, (ch 1, skip 1 st, 1
dc) until end of row
Row 64: 4 tch, skip 1 st, (1 dc, ch 1, skip 1 st) until ch 2 space, [(1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc) in ch 2 space,
(ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 dc) 19x, 2 dc, (1 dc, ch 1, skip 1 st) 19x] 4x, (1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc) in ch 2
space, (ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 dc) until end of row
Row 65: 4 tch, skip 1 st, (1 dc, ch 1, skip 1 st) until ch 2 space, [(1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc) in ch 2 space,
dc until ch 2 space] 4x, (1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc) in ch 2 space, (ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 dc) until end of
row

From now on I explain the sequence of repeating the rows. The (increasing) number of dc stitches in
each row that corresponds to the 2 dc in row 64 is given in red and bold.

row 66: repeat row 64 6 dc row 73: repeat row 64 20 dc

row 67: repeat row 64 8 dc row 74: repeat row 65
row 68: repeat row 65 row 75: repeat row 64 24 dc
row 69: repeat row 64 12 dc row 76: repeat row 64 26 dc
row 70: repeat row 64 14 dc row 77: repeat row 65
row 71: repeat row 65 row 78: repeat row 64 30 dc
row 72: repeat row 64 18 dc row 80: repeat row 64 32 dc

Step 6: Finishing

Border row: 1 tch, sc until end of row  2 sc in each ch space

Congratulations! Your shawl is nearly finished. You only have to weave in the ends and block your
shawl.
