Set and Logic Task 4!

1) In celebrating the independence day of Indonesia in Sorong, SMAN 1 will send their
students to join the competition in field tennis, volley ball, foot ball, badminton,
table tennis and chess. There is 6 students (Udin, Joko, Dayu, Siti, Beni and Tono)
will join the competition. School has 2 alternative choice to decide what
competition which join by all of them. The choice are:
 Udin join field tennis and volley ball, Joko join badminton, Dayu join chess,
Siti join volley ball, Beni join table tennis, and Tono join table tennis.
 Dayu and Siti join volley ball, Joko and Udin join football, Tono join table
tennis, and Bani join chess.

If school choose the first choice, pair the students with the competition they joined
in arrow diagrams, ordered pairs and cartecius diagrams.

SOLUTION: 1. Arrow Diagrams

Pair of students with their joined competition

Udin . .F. Tennis
Joko . .Volley Ball
Dayu . .Badminton
Siti . .Chess
Beni . .T. Tennis
Tono . .Football

2. Ordered pair (HP)

HP= {(Udin, Field Tennis), (Udin, Volley Ball), (Joko, Badminton), (Dayu, Chess),
(Siti, Volley Ball), (Beni, Table Tennis), (Tono, Table Tennis)}
3. Cartecius Diagram

2) There are some data:

• Buyung likes IPS and Art
• Doni likes Skills and Sports
• Vita likes IPA
• Putri likes Mathematics and English subject.

SOLUTION: 1. Arrow Diagrams

Pair of student with their favorite subjects

Buyung. .Art
Doni. .Skills
Vita. .Sports
Putri. .IPA

2. Ordered Pair (HP)

3) DATA OF THE NEW PARKING PRICE

No. Time (hour) Price (Rp)
1. 0 <𝑡 ≤2 (a) 10.000
2. 2 <𝑡 ≤4 (b) 20.000
3. 4 <𝑡 ≤6 (c) 30.000
4. 6 <𝑡 ≤8 (d) 40.000
5. 8 <𝑡 ≤10 (e) 50.000
6. 10< 𝑡 ≤ 12 (f) 60.000
7. 12< 𝑡 ≤ 24 (g) 70.000

b. The price if there is a car have parked from 7.30-10.00 WIB SOLUTION:
So 7.30-10.00 it means 1,5 hour so the price is based on the a section. It
means the price is only Rp. 10.000.

4) There is some data:

 A = Students. A={Afnita, Anita, Amos, Alvenia, Aleks}
B= Studying Time. B={1,2,34,5,6,7,8} The

question are:

a. Get them to the probably relation!

Pair of students with their studying time
A B

.1

.2
Afnita.
.3
Anita.
.4
Amos.
.5
Alvenia. .6

Aleks. .7

.8

b. Does all the elements set A have their mapping pair in set B?
Yes, it does
Because if fifth of them got the good score, they must be studying at
least I hour in a day. So it means all the elements of set A should
have their mapping pair in set B

c. Is it possible if element set A have two or more mapping pair in set B?

No, it isn’t
Because the students just have one studying time. Logically a
student has just one studying time in a day.

d. Is it possible if two element of set A have the same mapping pair in set B?
Yes, of course
Because it is possible if the students have same studying time. It ii
possibly happen. Logically, we can’t press the student that they
should have different studying time. For example, it is possible if
Amos and Aleks have the same studying time so automatically they
have the same mapping pair in set B.

 C = The Students. C={Afnita, Anita, Amos, Alvenia, Aleks)

D = Their Brothers/Sisters. D={1,2,3}

The question are:

a. Get them to probably relation!
C D

Afnita . .1
Anita . .2
Amos . .3
Alvenia .

Aleks .

b. Does all the elements set A have their mapping pair in set D?
No, it doesn’t
Because maybe the student don’t have sisters/brother or he is the
only one children. So Automatically, there is the element of set C can
be don’t has the mapping pair in set D.

c. Is it possible if element set C have two or more mapping pair in set D?

No, it isn’t
Because logically the students will sum all their sisters/brother so
there is one result. Therefore elements of set C they always have
one mapping pair in set D.

d. Is it possible if two element of set A have the same mapping pair in set B?
Yes, of course
Because it is possible if the students have same sum of
sisters/brothers . It is possibly happen. Logically, we can’t press the
student that they should have different sum of sisters/brothers. For
example, it is possible if Amos and Afnita have the same sum of
brothers/sisters so automatically they have the same mapping pair
in set D.
