TSWBAT choose the number that represents how many to take away/subtract

V. A. INTRODUCTION
YESTERDAY WE PRACTICED WRITING TWO SUBTRACTION SENTENCES. THE ONE THAT MATCHED
THE STORY, AND THE ONE THAT IS RELATED. WE USED 10 AS OUR TOTAL YESTERDAY.
WE ARE GOING TO DO ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE ON THE BOARD TOGETHER BUT WITH 9 AS OUR
TOTAL.

B. LESSON DEVELOPMENT (ACTIVITIES, PROCEDURES)


THERE ARE NINE BEADS ON THE GROUND. SOME GOT PICKED UP BUT YOU GET TO DECIDE HOW
MANY. DRAW A NUMBER BOND AND FILL IT IN WITH WHAT YOU CHOOSE. THEN WRITE THE
TWO MATCHING SUBTRACTION SENTENCES.

WE ARE GOING TO SPLIT UP INTO CENTERS NOW. EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO GET THEIR IPADS SO
WE CAN GET READY FOR THE IPAD CENTER. GO TO SCHOOLOGY AND CLICK ON THE GREEN
CRAYON. NOW CLICK THE LINK THAT TAKES YOU TO MATHGAMES.COM. CLICK ON FIRST GRADE.
NOW LEAVE YOUR IPADS ON YOUR DESK FOR WHEN YOU ARE READY FOR THAT CENTER.

 STUDENTS WILL BE ON THEIR IPADS WORKING INDEPENDENTLY ON SKILLS LEARNED

CENTERS ARE SPLIT INTO THREE LEVELED GROUPS. LOW LEVEL LEARNERS WILL RECEIVE
GUIDANCE DURING THE TEACHER STATION WHEREAS THE HIGH-LEVEL GROUP WILL DO THE
ACTIVITY INDEPENDENTLY.
ALEX WILL DO WORK ON A WHITE BOARD WITH DIRECT INSTRUCTION GIVEN WHEN WORKING
THROUGH THE PROBLEM SET
