Project Overview

During a pandemic, the ability to access health care and

services without discrimination is an obvious requirement to
be able to survive, and to survive in good health. While no
government can guarantee individual good health for everyone,
every government does have obligations to allow people to
enjoy the highest attainable standard of health they can,
given their individual conditions. But we cannot deny the fact
that people living in the streets can’t access food and water
if they can’t work on the street, Can’t seek care when they
fall ill and faces the risk of being locked up for being out
during a lockdown. Due to their extreme poverty and the
circumstances in which they live, street-connected children
and homeless youth are among the most exposed to the risk of
contagion.

So our team decided to make a project to help and reach out to

street-connected children and people who were experiencing
homelessness. We call this project ”Crafts for a Cause”
wherein our team will create crafts like necklace, mini letter
standees and bracelets, customize it according to how our
customers wants it to be and sell it online to raise funds and
help the people mentioned above. The crafts that we will be
creating is a customized product wherein the customer has the
freedom to choose what kind of sentimental things that they
would like to be included in the product that we will be
making. So by purchasing our product, the customers will not
only preserve the important things that they have but will
also help the street-connected children and homeless people.
We are planning to collaborate with various organizations like
JPIA to help us market our product and extend the scope of our
target market.

The 20% of our monthly sales will be used to buy food, water
and facemasks for our target prospect. The goal of this
project is not just to earn but to extend help to others at
the same time. It may not have an enormous impact on lessening
the increasing number of Novel-Corona Virus cases and the
number of homeless people who are starving but at least by our
simple effort we still contribute in mitigating the effect of
it. The greatest gift to our community would be when we
contribute to making lives better; when we touch lives by the
dint of donations or charity, spreading light to the most
needy and enlighten our souls in the process.

Purpose of the Project Charter

Craft for a Cause is a non-profit organization. The purpose of

non-profit organizations is generally to improve quality of
life for others at a community, local, state, national, or
even global level. These organizations are not dedicated to
private or financial gain but to the advancement of public
interest. The purpose to start and operate a non-profit
organization is the same as for a business, except that the
emphasis is changed.

Craft for a Cause has three purposes to start or operate a

business. They are to make money, to gain satisfaction from
working in a field of interest, and to benefit others. Craft
for a Cause is founded primarily or the purpose of serving the
local community. The primary purpose of Craft for a Cause is
to be able to help others and to do good for society
especially for those people mostly affected of this pandemic.
The 20%sales will proceed to our fellow citizens who are
homeless. It will use to buy food, water, and facemasks for
them. Making money is a secondary purpose of Craft for a cause
in starting a business entity. To be successful of the
project, Craft for a Cause is still business that need to make
money to fund the primary purpose. Money is usually the first
goal of an entrepreneur but in Craft for a Cause is to help
our fellow citizen is the primary purpose. A business can also
be a way to become more involved in something you are
passionate about, whether it is woodworking or outdoor
adventure. The last purpose is to provide some sort of
satisfaction or enjoyment for the owner. People usually start
and run businesses in areas that they are interested in and
enjoy. The owners enjoy crafting; it is an outlet for
creativity, a way to give joy, and a social connection. At
Craft for a cause, owners want to share their creativity with
others. There is an undeniable joy in crafting especially when
you preserve the memories of the customers wants to preserve.
In Craft for a Cause will be customized and customers will be
the one to choose which sentimental things they would like to
preserve the memories, but the most joyful moment is when you
give your creation to someone and it brightens their day.

 To create and produce a product that has a sentimental

value from a customer that can be preserved and use as
jewellery and mini letter standees within the month of
November 2020 to June 2021.

 To achieve a ten percent net profit each month starting

November 2020 to June2021.

 To share our twenty percent sale by addressing the basic

Project Scope

This project focused on selling crafts which is handmade

necklace, keychain, mini letter standee and bracelet;
customize it based on customer's preferred design. The purpose
of this project is to start-up a small business or to operate
a business and to make money or profit, but its primary goal
is for charity. We call this project "Crafts for a cause" as
the primary goal of this project is to help those less
fortunate people who are living on the streets, in which 20%
of the monthly sales are going to charity, because of Corona-
virus pandemic many of the street dwellers and homeless
families are most affected in this trying times. Thus, they
are our target beneficiaries for this project we will be
giving food supplies which includes canned goods, rice,
noodles and milk, also Corona-virus kits which includes mask,
alcohol and medicines. Street-connected children and people
who are experiencing homelessness in Butuan, City are the
chosen beneficiaries. This project will commence on November
25, 2020 and will end on June 30, 2021. Also, to make this
project successful we will be collaborating with the various
organizations such as the Junior Philippine Institute of
Accountants to help us carry out our goals and objectives.
Every end of the month starting November 2020 up until June of
2021 we will allocate the 20% of the sales for the charity.

Project Assumptions

The organization’s project assumption falls under different

categories such as resource, budget and scope assumptions.

10 | P a g e
[Type text]

Resource Assumptions:

 The materials needed to complete the product will be readily

available to utilize.
 The team is assigned to do their designated tasks for about
30 hours per week on the day shift.
 The energy and water resources will be on during the working
hours.

Budget Assumptions:

 The cost of the materials for creating the product will be

sixty percent from the given budget of the project.
 The cost of packaging will be ten percent of the project’s
budget.
 The remaining thirty percent of the project’s budget will be
used for upcoming or unforeseen expenses.
 The material and resource costs will remain consistent
throughout the project.
 The overall cost of the day-to-day activity will not
increase.

Scope Assumptions:

 The scope of the project will not change.

Constraints

Project constraints are limiting factors for your project that

can impact quality, delivery, and overall project success.
The following are the constraints we recognized in
accomplishing our project:

Cost

Equally important to us is how much this project will cost. As

with time constraints, our budget estimates need to be
presented in a range. We have to consider the estimated cost
of budget by considering all costs: labor, material, delivery
of the product and other costs incurred in making the product.

Time

Given the short amount of time, we might face some problems in

creating, marketing and selling our products. It is a
constraint because we have set specific time on when to
accomplish this project. The project timeline will be
important to the outcome, as failing to stay on schedule could
result in the failure of the project as a whole.

Risk

We usually think of threats—what might go wrong when we plan

for risks. Our team with the supervision of the project
manager must be able to reasonably foresee failures at every
step of a project, and prepare for them accordingly. This can
involve playing out what-if scenarios and formulating
contingency plans: What if a buyer fails to pay or cancel
his/her order? What if we lose any number of resources due to
lack of stock? What if the market takes a huge swing? What if
our competitor launches a similar product at the same time?

Quality and Customer Satisfaction

Quality is one of the major constraints of every project. We

considered it as a constraint because we are uncertain if the
quality of the products that we will be producing will satisfy
our customers especially that we will be making it using our
bare hands and it is also our first time doing it. Customers
are the source of money and if we cannot satisfy our
customers, we will not be able to stand against competition
during time. Therefore, customer satisfaction is a crucial
project constraint
