SUBJECT : Spot Report on Robbery with Homicide and Rape Incident

DATE : October 28, 1971

1. Reference: Robbery with Homicide and Rape incident transpired on


October 28, 1971 at the City of Manila, Philippines.

2. Please be informed that a robbery with homicide and rape transpired on or


about October 28, 1971 at nighttime along Jones Bridge, City of Manila,
Philippines wherein victims are identified as Diana Ang y Navalos, 20
years old, married but estranged from her husband, Valentin Katigdas, in
the company of her boyfriend of six months, Eugenio Calaykay, 32 years
old, single, was robbed (1) men's wrist watch, "Rado" brand gold plated
and one (1) brown wallet with cash money of undetermined amount
belonging to said Eugenie Calaykay y Baldonado, and Mexican money
worth P2.00 and one (1) Parker ball pen valued at P10.00 or a total value
of P12.00 belonging to said Diana Ang y Navales.

3. Initial investigation/interview with the victim, Diana Ang y Navalos,


identifies Pedro Coranez y Tatualla, armed with a knife, approached the
taxi from the left and the other, armed with a gun, identified by Diana as
Jessie Tapales, approached the taxicab from the right. Upon retrieval of
personal items from the victims, Eugenio was stabbed by Coranez and
shot by Tapales, ultimately causing his death. Suspects proceeded to find
a vacant lot along Quezon City, and took turns in raping her.

4. Furthermore, Diana was dropped off behind the Carbungco restaurant, the
accused giving her 118.00 and threats to kill her if she reported the matter
to the police. Despite the threats, she along with a civilian who took pity on
her, proceeded to Precinct 8 where she reported the incident to Pat.
Libao. An Advance Information or Alarm Report was forthrightly issued.
