more or less conscious about their academic performance and so they most of the time they
would spend time doing school related tasks assigned to them regardless of gender.

Table 3 revealed that access to social media site specifically facebook among Grade 10
students is high for both male and female (M= 3.87 and M=4.13) respectively, for those in urban
and rural areas (M=4.00 and M=4.23) respectively. This may be due to the fact that nowadays,
everyone has maintained a facebook account due to the fact that it has helped them in
communicating with friends and relatives. On the other hand, the level of access to social media
particularly facebook for those in the high and average income group is also high (M=4.00 and
M=4.23) respectively. While respondents in the low income group has an average (M=2.40)

belonging to high and average income group is also high (M=3.00 and M=2.46) respectively.
While respondents belonging to the low income group has a low level of access to twitter

When grouped according to place of residence, the level of access to twitter of the
respondents in the rural area is high (M=3.29) and low in the urban area (M=2.30). This may be
due to the fact that students in the rural area are forced to access this site for them not to be left
behind.

respondents are classified as to gender, socio-economic status, and place of residents, the level of
access to YouTube is high. This may due to the fact that in the Junior High School now,
activities are more or less interactive in nature that students find it very helpful and useful if they

of the classroom.

according to gender, male had a low access to snapchat (M=1.93). This may be brought by the
