LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION

It is my immense pleasure.to recommend one of my finest students Mr. Shah Vivek Jitendrabhai into
your graduate program in Aerospace Engineering for the next coming academic year - Fall 202 I. As
the assistant professor at Silver Oak College of Engineering and Technology, I have known him for 3
years now and taught him the subjects like Aircraft Structures, Systems, Instruments and Maintenance,
Avionics and Aviation Management. I also supervised his lab sessions in the modules of Avionics. He
attended all my lectures and understood the subject, which was also reflected by his participation in
the lab. He performed exceptionally well in all the subjects in examinations and even applied
theoretical concepts in his internship and projects.

I have known him priorly because of his active participation and discussions in class where his
knowledge and interest were highly reflected and made him to the list of top scorers of the class. In
the final year I worked with him as his project guide, where he and few of his classmates approached
me with the idea where they can cover all their academic learnings into one project. Many vast ideas
came but a[J1ongst all of them we narrow it down to 2 topics; one where they can conceptually design
a whole large-scale aircraft and another where they can particularly focus on ·improving engine's
efficiency. Vivek took the call to integrate both the topics seamlessly by designing the whole large-
scale aircraft along with designing an aggregate engine for the same aircraft. This was contemporary
as most of the community goes just with engine rating while designing the aircraft, but they decided
to do .the engine calculations from scratch and compose the engine assembly by designing each
component individually. The idea was fascinating but due to inadequate time I hesitated in the start,
although by the virtue of team's interest and hard work they successfully submitted the first manuscript
ur_1der the title 'Light General Aviation Aircraft' which was quite affirmative. His active interest in the
process and directional efforts assured· me that he can lead this project, the team consisted of 8
members where he divided departments in such a way that each student must cover 2 topics which was
quite .constructive. He took the responsibility of 'Weight Estimation' and 'Wing Designing' topics
where his experience helped the most, as the project head his efforts were not limited to his topics and
also helped in the calculations of engine, fuselage and empennage. The submitted project report
showed their intense research and provided base for selecting and calculating each parameter along
with graphical representing 3D model and performed iterative analytical results, it was also an honour
for me to be the part of such a remarkable project. Evenly balancing his academic and extra-curricular
pursuits, Vivek has also voluntarily participated in college's tech fest 'TALASH', where he was a
student coordinator for several events and performed his responsibilities and maintain his composure
very well throughout the event.

Vivek is highly motivated to pursue his higher studies at your esteemed university. I firmly believe
that he will be an asset to your institute and further enhance his attributes by studying in your
