My teaching philosophy

My teaching philosophy believes that effectively teaching students requires them to be able to

express their creativity and emotions freely because every student is unique, I was inspired by

this when reading about the Waldorf seiner method, because it encourages students to explore

and create with themselves, and it strives to develop their artistic, and practical skills so I aim

to incorporate a classroom in which students can be able to express their opinions and

emotions in a safe caring environment. I’ve noticed during my teaching practice that children

learn mostly by being involved and when they have active participation and interactive

teaching, as john dewy's theory states human beings learn through a 'hands-on' approach, my

goal as a teacher is to integrate these methods into classrooms and allow children to be able

to effectively learn while I apply the teaching strategies I’ve learned throughout my studies in

HCT.

The meaning of good teaching to me is as much about passion as it is about the reason. It’s

about not only motivating students to learn, but teaching them how to learn, and doing so in a

manner that is relevant, meaningful, and memorable. It’s about caring for your craft, having a

passion for it, and conveying that passion to everyone, most importantly to your students.

The best teaching is about substance and training students as consumers of knowledge. It’s

about doing your best to keep on top of your field, reading sources, inside and outside of your

areas of expertise, and being at the leading edge as often as possible. But knowledge is not

confined to scholarly journals. Good teaching is also about bridging the gap between theory

and practice. It’s about leaving the ivory tower and immersing oneself in the field, talking to,

consulting with, and assisting practitioners, and liaising with their communities.
