SCAFFOLDING

 Make sure toe boards and guards rails are fitted, where a person is liable to fall from
more than 2 metres height.

 Don’t use incomplete scaffolding. Follow the Scafftag Signs displayed on the access
point of the Scaffold.

 Don’t remove or interfere with clamps, guardrails, bracings, toe boards, and ladders.
Alterations must only be made by competent scaffolders.

 Don’t throw materials from heights, use suitable mean such as a bag and a piece of
rope or hand it down.

 Carry out a visual inspection at the start of each shift prior to use.

 Report all faults or defects immediately to the Scaffolding Supervisor..

 Scaffolding should be inspected on a weekly basis by a competent scaffolding


supervisor and details of inspection recorded.

PLEASE REMEMBER:

1. Scaffolding provides you with a safe working platform. Do not abuse it.

2. Observe the rules and prevent a Fall.

3. Ensure that you keep platforms clear from tools, equipment and general rubbish.

4. If conducting hot work operations, remember to take precautions when working on


walkways, they are made of wood and are subject to burning .
