Behavior:
Feel free to handout BEST pom-poms (the blue and white pom poms on my desk) throughout the day for students
showing Bondurant's BEST. The students can put it in the class pom pom bucket that is located by the window.
Helpers:
Ms. Roberta works 1:1 with Kolynn because he has hearing loss. She will be a great resource if you have any questions
throughout the day. She goes with Kolynn to different places though, so if she is not in the room, Mrs. Rempe, Miss
Hilbert, or Mrs. Tisdale are also good adults to go to.
Morning Work:
There is morning work in my clear bins labeled "Morning Work". Please pass this out before students come in for the day.
HAVE STUDENTS BUILD SIGHT WORDS WITH PLAYDOUGH FOR MORNING WORK
I also pass out their lunch cards on their desk before students come in for the day as well. Students get to choose
between Home lunch, cold, or hot. If they choose lunch from home, you will need to ask them if they need a school milk.
If they need school milk, I put those cards in the front of the lunch bag in the mesh pocket. Then I count the cold lunches
and hot lunches and submit that to the office.
Take a quick look through Blue take home folder. If they have homework to turn in, have them put it in the homework tray
above their mailboxes. Students will sit down at their desk and work on their morning work. If they complete this and
there is still time before the bell, students can work on unfinished work, read a book, or draw in their art (sketch) pad
(they can only draw or read if all other work including unfinished work is finished). AT 8:25, students will stop what they
are doing and listen to the announcements. They should clean up whatever they are working on and say the Pledge of
Allegiance, character pledge, and BEST pledge.
Ayden B. is on check in/check out. He will have a chart that you will need to fill in throughout the day. He earns a green
circle if you only have to remind him 0 or 1 times. He earns a yellow circle if you have to remind him 2-3 times, and he
earns a red if you have to remind him more than 3 times to do a task. He struggles in reading and math with following the
task.
8:25 send Ayden down to Mr. Wiersma for check in with his clipboard.
Jaxson M. has severe allergies. There is a necklace by the door that tells you what his allergies are.
MRS. LUSTOFF is going to grab Addilynn from 8:30-8:45 to work on fluency. She will send her straight to Title at
8:45, then Addilynn will come back to the room at 9:10.
These morning meeting activites are hanging up behind my desk chair on the wall. Flip to the one listed and it
will give you directions.
Sharing: If you could meet somebody famous, who would it be and why?
8:45-8:55: Max, Mila, and Justus. Pull back one student at a time to read through the fluency passage "Happy Teeth".
Put the copy without the recording section in front of them, then you record on their recording and goal setting paper.
Circle any errors they have with a RED pen. This is their first read. Time them for 1 minute and then record their score on
the side in the first read section. Have students set a goal for their reading. The goal can be increasing accuracy, slowing
down their pace, reading with expression, increasing their score and so on. Have them right this goal on their paper
where it asks for their goal. Have students keep this inside their RED reading folder for the next group time they will meet
with you.
8:55-9:10: Brynlee, Quinn, Khloe, and Logan. Pull back one student at a time to read through the fluency passage
"Just for Us". Put the copy without the recording section in front of them, then you record on their recording and goal
setting paper. Circle any errors they have with a RED pen. This is their first read. Time them for 1 minute and then record
their score on the side in the first read section. Have students set a goal for their reading. The goal can be increasing
accuracy, slowing down their pace, reading with expression, increasing their score and so on. Have them right this goal
on their paper where it asks for their goal. Have students keep this inside their RED reading folder for the next group time
they will meet with you.
Have students who are not meeting with you first work on the verb worksheet, then practice sight word triangles,
last read to self.

Remind the students that they need to write at least 5 complete sentences about their weekend. Remind them to use
capital letters, punctuation, and details in their writing. Then pass the paper out to the students and let them work on this
until 9:30. Once they have at least 5 good complete sentences and show you them, then they can draw their picture.
Day 9: Library
Day 10: Technology
10:15--Have students come and sit at the carpet and watch the story: Ah Music! Stop throughout the video when there is
a question at the bottom of the video (1:33 and 3:32), pause the video and discuss the questions with the class. Discuss
with the students, "Sometimes authors include special features when they write. These are called text and graphic
features. Pictures, headings, and captions are examples of text features. These can help us understand the text and find
information in the text"
10:30--Dictation Assessment: Pass out the dictation sentences half pieces of paper to each student. This is an
assessment for the students, so remind them that you are not allowed to help them and that this is a show me what you
know so they are not allowed to talk during this. Have students put up their fluency binders as privacy folders so that no
one can peak at anyone elses. Remind them that these are sentences as well. Once students have their binders up and
a pencil out, pass out the dictation sentences half pieces of paper to each student. Have the students put their name at
the top of the page. Then have them give you a thumbs up when their name is on their paper. Give them the first
sentence: The chick will hatch. Have them write it down. Repeat the sentence slowly multiple times. Have students
give you a thumbs up when they are done writing the sentence. Once students are done with the first sentence, repeat
for the second sentence: Can Jill toss the doll? Repeat the same steps as the first sentence. Once all students are
finished with the second sentence, move onto the third and the last sentence: The bug can buzz past the dentist.
Once student have all of the sentences complete, collect their papers and you can paper clip them and put them back in
the drawer for me to grade later.

Students that are eating in the lunchroom: 1st - Home lunch - no milk, 2nd -Home lunch - need milk, 3rd - Cold lunch
choice (bluebracelet), 4th - Hot lunch choice
Enter in SOUTH doors. Follow the X's into the kitchen. Drop off lunch cards with lunch ladies. Students eating in the
classroom will continue to walk down on the red center line and line up again by the south doors. Students eating in the
lunchroom will be sitting in assigned seats at the closest table to the south wall right where you walk in.
After students are done with lunch, they will be sent back to the hallway. They will wait along the lockers until 11:30,
when they are allowed back into the room. They will need a pump of Germ-X upon entering the room!
Students that eat in the room: Assigned spots around the room. Stay put until you are all done eating. When done, mask
up and dump tray/garbage in the hallway. Stack tray nicely and return to class. Wash hands or grab a pump of Germ-X.
11:25 - Students need to be finishing up with lunch, and dumping trays/garbage.11:30 - All students return to the room.
Masks on and continue with day.
Teach all other students how to play roll it, tell it, cover it game. Pass out each student a roll it, tell it, cover it worksheet,
have them get circle counters to use to cover the times, and have them go with their partners to play it together.
11:55--Have students put the counters away and the paper into their green math folder to save to play again.
Play Kahoot Review Game. You can have students get out Chromebooks for this, or you can just pull it up on your
screen and have them answer on their whiteboards. Whichever way you think will work best for you.
CGI Review of 2 digit Addition: Go through the first review slide with the students. Do this whole group. Ask: How many
tens are in the number 46? How many ones are in the number 46? What is 10 more than 46? What is 10 less than 46?
Then at the bottom of the slide go through which number is greater or less than. The next slide then goes through pre-
knowledge questions to set the stage for the CGI problem. Ask the students the questions on the slide abou donuts.
Then read through the problem on the next page. Once you are done reading the problem, pass out the problem slips to
the students and have them glue them on the next open page in their math notebooks. Once they are glued in, have
them create the four boxes so they are able to solve the 4 problems on the slip of paper. They have done this before, so
if you have any questions on what it is supposed to look like, look in the front of one of their math notebooks and you will
be able to see. Have them work on this independently, and you can walk around and check in on each student while they
are working. If they are struggling, you can help them set up the problem, then encourage them to draw base-ten pieces
to help them solve.
During this time, have students read to self at their seats or around the room. If they have any handwriting from last week
that they need to finish please have them work on that now. They can also finish any yellow folder (unfinished work)
during this time instead of read to self.

10:15--Teach Magic E
Have students complete the Language Tool Kit. "I say, you say" through all of the sounds. Then follow the
routine below:
“What is the short sound of a?” /ă/. A has another sound that we will be studying this week. That sound
is the same as the name of the letter a. The short ă sound has only one basic spelling. That spelling is a
single a followed by a consonant.” (CVC)
“Today we are going to learn about the Magic E and how it can change the sound of a vowel. Magic
E is silent at the end of a word. It throws its magic over a consonant to the other vowel in the word and
makes the vowel say its long sound or name. The spelling pattern we will be looking for this week is a,
consonant, e. (a_e or VCe) When an e is added after the consonant in a short a word or syllable, the magic
e makes the a use its long sound or its name, /ā/.” “Sound this word with me.” Write Sam on the board
and sound out the word together. Then add magic e on the end of Sam. “When the magic e is put on the
end of Sam it makes a use its long sound. The new word is same. Let’s look at another word.” Follow the
same procedure with: tap, tape; plan, plane; van, vane

YOU HAVE South Lot Duty. You will need to start taking the South Lot students at 3:12 . They need to be outside
by 3:15. The south lot line is at the end of the 2nd grade hallway on the right hand side. Walk these students out the
recess doors, and to the gate by the parking lot. Then walk the students down the side walk and have them sit by the
entrance to the school. You will see 1st grade and Kinder out their too. You will then help get the students into their
vehicles. If you have any questions please ask Miss Peterson.
Friday 12/11/2020
HAVE STUDENTS BUILD SIGHT WORDS WITH PLAYDOUGH FOR MORNING WORK
Please pass this out before students come in for the day. I also pass out their lunch cards on their desk before students
come in for the day as well. Students get to choose between Home lunch, cold, or hot. If they choose lunch from home,
you will need to ask them if they need a school milk. If they need school milk, I put those cards in the front of the lunch
bag in the mesh pocket. Then I count the cold lunches and hot lunches and submit that to the office.
8:45-9:00: Max, Mila, and Justus. Pull back one student at a time to read through the fluency passage "Happy Teeth".
Put the copy without the recording section in front of them, then you record on their recording and goal setting paper.
Circle any errors they have with a BLUE pen. This is their SECOND read. Time them for 1 minute and then record their
score on the side in the DAY 2 read section. Review their goal and record their results.
9:00-9:15: Brynlee, Quinn, Khloe, and Logan. Pull back one student at a time to read through the fluency passage
"Just for Us". Put the copy without the recording section in front of them, then you record on their recording and goal
setting paper. Circle any errors they have with a BLUE pen. This is their SECOND read. Time them for 1 minute and then
record their score on the side in the DAY 2 read section. Review their goal and record their results.
Have students who are not meeting with you work on unfinished (yellow folder) work. Then students can
rainbow write 10 sight words in their reading notebook. Then read to self.
10:15--Comprehension
Go over the text feature posters that are attached. Have students pair up and pass out the non-fiction text feature
puzzles. Have students match the text features name with the definition and the picture. Have them raise their hands
