1.0 GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 M/s. Vale International SA (also referred to as VALE) is setting up Pellet plant of 9.0
MTPA capacity having 2 (Two) lines of induration process of 4.5 MTPA capacity at
Oman Industrial complex, city of Sohar, Oman. The plant is designed as per Grate-
Kiln technology of Kobe Steel, Ltd. for Iron ore pelletization.
This technical specification together with the reference documents describes the
requirement for manufacture and supply of 1set of Vibrating Feeder.
1.2 The following documents are attached and shall be a part of requirements of
specification:

2.0 PROCESS DESCRIPTION:-
Vibrating feeder AL-3173-01 with hopper is installed at chunk crushing system ST-
3173-01 to feed the jaw crusher.
It receives raw material from the skip hoist EL-3173-01 and separates the lumps by
means of a scalping grizzly set over the hopper opening.
The vibrating pan of the feeder has also a second grated section that will permit the
passage of the small size material which is not required to go to the crusher and so
increasing the capacity of the whole system.
3.0 SCOPE OF SUPPLY

4.1 General Parameters

a) Vibrating feeders shall be designed, manufactured and supplied in accordance with
relevant International Standards where applicable in addition to the requirement
mentioned herein.
b) The feeders shall be of robust construction and of balanced design.
c) Seller shall make his own calculation in respect of motor kilowatt to ensure satisfactory
performance of the equipment.
d) Standardization of components and assemblies shall be carried out to the maximum
possible extent to ensure interchangeability.
e) Vibrating feeders shall be of electro-mechanical. The vibrating units of the feeders
shall be of unbalanced motor type.
f) The troughs of the feeders shall be of tray type construction and shall be made out of
minimum 10 mm thick MS plate. 12 mm thick Hardox-400 liner shall be provided
inside the trough along its length and cross section. The trough liner shall be provided
with adequate side guard to avoid spillage. The equipment will be provided with
enclosed dust proof vibrators (unbalanced masses).
g) All the feeders shall be of suspended type as specified in Technical Parameters. Each
vibrating feeder shall be supplied complete with suspension rods, ropes, turn buckets
etc.
h) Each vibrating feeder shall be supplied complete with four numbers of suspension
rods / ropes and turn- buckles etc. Feeders shall be provided with safety wire ropes to
prevent dropping of equipment in case of failure of the rod or turn-buckle suspenders.
i) Lifting eyes shall be provided for lifting and erection of vibrating feeder.
j) The Seller shall ensure that minimum amount of assembly is necessary for erection
and commissioning of equipment at site. Site welding etc. shall be avoided as far as
possible.
k) All equipment shall be designed such that all components are easily accessible for
inspection, repair and maintenance.

5.0 ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION SPECIFICATION

Technical requirements, general information and minimum instructions for the supply
of electric low voltage motors for VALE projects refer enclosed doccument,

The electrical and instrumentation specifications are provided in the enclosed

document,

6.0 EXCLUSION
The following shall be for Seller’s scope,
1) Civil and building works
2) Erection work
3) Support structure for Vibrating feeder’s suspension
7.0 INSPECTION AND TESTING:-
a) Inspection & testing of equipment shall be carried out by Seller in witness of Buyer or
an authorized agent of Buyer at the works of supplier during manufacturing and on
final product to ensure conformity of the same with the acceptable criteria of technical
specification, approved drawings, authenticated manufacturing drawings and
reference national / international standards.
b) Buyer reserves the right to verify the quality program and entire product
characteristics during manufacturing to assure the intended and specified quality of
the product.
Refer the enclosed document CP-3100-G-30007_A “Engineering Standard- General
Procedure for Shop Inspection and Tests” and as per Annexure-IV.

8.0 DOCUMENTS SUPPLIED BY THE SELLER

The Seller shall submit the documents in accordance with the attached documents
CP-3100-G-30009_A “ Engineering Standard- Drawing and Documents”. In addition of
above, the Seller shall submit the documents in accordance with the schedule
mentioned in Annexure-III “Seller Drawings and Data Requirement”.
