THE DIFFERENCES

BETWEEN GOOD, BAD, AND UGLY PRESENTATION

1. Good Presentation
A good presentation should be like an organised and enlarged conversation. The
power of speaking in the presentation is in the personal contact it makes, in the
immediacy it brings to an interaction. The good presentation can make a great deal of
difference to credibility as a presenter. It is can use to take advantage from the
presentation. The good presentation is learned and takes a great deal of hard work. The
characteristics of the good presentation are:
a. The presenter always think before speak
b. Know the situation of the audiences
c. Establish eye contact with audiences
d. Have a persuasive strategy
e. Have a good preparation
f. Use evidences
g. Use non-verbal language
h. Use the presentation consist of an introduction, a body, and conclusion
i. Anticipate questions and have answers ready
j. Use an attractive media of the presentation
k. Use images, language, and structure which empower the audiences
l. Include at least a couple of quotable quotes.
2. Bad Presentation
A bad presentation is a presentation when the goal of the presentation may be
unclear due to the things that does not attract the attention of the audiences. This
presentation make the audiences feel uncomfortable. The characteristics of the bad
presentation are:
a. Not checking equipment beforehand
b. Reading from the screen
c. Reading from a script
d. Mumbling, not talking clearly
e. No apparent structure to the talk
f. Does not take questions
g. Have a lot of slides.
3. Ugly Presentation
An ugly presentation is the presentation which does not have a serious preparation,
so that when doing the presentation, the result is different from that expected. The
characteristics of the ugly presentation are:

a. No have a preparation
b. Deliver the presentations in unattractive way.
c. Not use any media for presentation (not use slide of PowerPoint, etc)
d. If use a media, it is crammed full of informations but without graphics and images.
