ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

I.
 Name of Activity: CAREER GUIDANCE WEEK 2019
 Theme: “Working with dignity equals a happy ME!”
 Date: August 9 – 15, 2019

II. A. Objectives:
- To guide the students in choosing future careers based on their interests through
an Interest Inventory
- To create learning opportunities for students’ self-awareness and well informed
decision making through dialogue with professionals
- To promote the significance of Christian values in the work place fostering love
and service to God and country
- To recognize inspiring laborers who uphold the dignity of their jobs through the
Huwarang Manggagawa Nomination and Awarding

D. Rationale:
God is calling us to something that this or that is what we were made for. As Pope
Francis further elaborated in Christus Vivit, work is an expression of human dignity, a
path of development and of social inclusion. Thus, also pursuant to DepEd Order No.
25 s. 2013 entitled Guidelines on the Conduct of Career Guidance Week for Grade
School and High School Students effective SY 2013-2014 and in compliance to the
School Calendar for SY 2019-2020 under DepEd Order No. 25, s. 2018 that all public
and private secondary schools are expected to undertake similar activities, the school
will conduct activities that will help students discern the career or path they would
like to take in the future while also taking into consideration God’s plan for each of
them.
III.
Program:
1. August 9, 2019 – Academic Class hours (8 am to 4 pm- 1 hour per section)
ESSAY (Grade 10-12): Students will write an essay about what they wanted to be
15 years from now and below according to their grade level. Aside from what they
wanted to be, they will also explain on how they will achieve their goals and dreams
in life.
“My Dream Job” Drawing (Pre-Elem – Grade 6): On a bond paper, students will
draw themselves wearing their dream job uniform. They may use coloring materials.

2. August 12, 2019 – Deadline of Nomination for Huwarang Manggagawa


Award
Each section from Grade 7-12 will submit a nomination for Huwarang Manggagawa.
The class must submit a picture of the nominee, full name, occupation, brief
biography, and reason why he/she is considered a “Huwarang Manggagawa”. This
will be posted on the Career Guidance Gallery

3. August 13, 2019 – Academic Class Hours


Career Occupational Preference System (COPS) (Grade 9-11): Students will
answer an Interest Inventory in the specific schedule that will be posted. It measures
an examinee’s level of interest in each of the 14 COPSystem VIA Career Clusters.
This 20-minute survey is used to explore career interests based on likes and dislikes.
The COPS Interest Inventory emphasizes a proactive approach to career exploration,
featuring career and educational planning, along with a listing of suggested activities
to gain relevant experience. A master sheet will be filled up to summarize the results
of the students’ interest inventory.
“Proud to be” Placards (Grade 7-12): On an illustration board, students will write
their DREAM JOB using the tagline “Proud to be” (for example: Proud to be a
TEACHER). Then, they will write a short explanation on why they are proud to be who
they wanted to be. (For example: I will

1:45 P.M. Prayer of Consecration to Jesus through Mary (praying for goals in
the time capsule and surrendering to God’s will)
