Activity 2 Scope and Delimitation of the Study

The main purpose of the study is to assess the impacts of home-based modality to the students’
academic performance. The study considers the student’s personal information such as their name
(optional) gender, age, section, and chosen home-based modality.

The researcher limited the study to fifty (50) male and female grade eleven (11) Accountancy,
Business, Management (ABM) students enrolled in first semester of the school year 2020-2021 of
Bataan National High School Senior High School. Each of the respondents was given a questionnaire to
answer through online. The selected students who can access the internet came from four different
sections to prevent bias and get objective perceptions.

Home-Based Modality: Academic Performance of Grade 12 ABM Students of Bataan National

High School

Statement of the Problem

This study aims to assess the impacts of the chosen home-based modality of grade eleven
(11) students from Accountancy, Business, Management (ABM) track enrolled at Bataan
National High School-SHS of the Academic Year 2017-2018 to their academic performance.
Specifically, the study seeks to answer the following questions:
1. How may the demographic profile of the students be described in terms of:
1.1. Age;
1.2. Sex;
1.3. Intelligence quotient;
1.4. 1st Semester Grade Point Average;
1.5. Chosen home-based modality?
2. How may the following factors affect the grade eleven (11) Accountancy, Business,
Management (ABM) students in choosing their home-based modality:
2.1. Skills;
2.2. Study Habits;
2.3. Standard of living;
2.4. Environment;
3. Is there a significant effect between their profile variables and the common factors that affect
the chosen home-based modality of grade eleven (11) Accountancy, Business, Management
(ABM) students?
4. Based on the result, what is the implication of this study in the students’ academic
performance?

In this conceptual framework, home-based education has an impact on the students’ skills and
study habits which in turn helps to influence the Students’ Academic Performance.

Activity 2
1. University refers to an institution of higher learning that provides different courses and
confers bachelor’s degree.
2. Electric fan is a device run by an electric motor that converts electricity to mechanical work
making it more convenient than an ordinary fan.
3. Painting is an art that is made by applying paints to a surface artistically to convey a message
or feeling.
4. A phrase is a group of words which has no finite verb in it and acts to complete the sentence
for making it meaningful.
5. Patience is the capacity to tolerate delay, disturbance, or inconvenience without getting upset
or riled up.
Actvity 3

The main purpose of the study is to determine the comparison of the effect of the

academic workload between Grade 10 STE and regular academic students. The study exists

to identify how the academic workload affects the students. The researchers aim to

distinguish the said thoughts and insights of the student regarding the academic workload

given to them and their recommendation about the said topic.

The terms are operationally defined to enhance the understanding of the readers of the

study. The researchers defined the task demand as the ratio between time needed to complete

a certain task and the available time to satisfy it and pointed out that workload is a

combination between the available resources of an operating system, task demand, and

people’s capability. The definition has excessive wordings on it making it hard to understand.

Eliminating the “…and pointed out that workload is a combination between the available

resources of an operating system, task demand, and people’s capability,” will greatly affect

the definition’s accuracy and clarity.

Meanwhile, the researchers defined the academic workload as the amount of work to be

done, especially by the Grade 10 STE and regular academic students in a period of time. The

researchers did a good job in defining the term in a manner that is easily understood by

many.

1. Students who are playing mobile legends have poor academic performance than students who do

not.

2. There is a significant effect in the academic performance of those students that play mobile legends.

3. Playing mobile legends leads to leads to poor academic performance of a student.

4. There is no significant change in academic performance of the students, whether they play or not.

5. Playing mobile legends does not affect the academic performance of the students.

Playing Mobile Academic
Legends Performance

In this conceptual framework, it is expected that the students who play mobile legends will have
poor academic performance than those who do not. Also, the more hours spent in playing mobile
legends the lesser the hours for studying. As a result, the students will have poor academic
performance.
