Personal Statement
Name –Muhammad Ali Haider

I am currently in Year 11 and am studying for my GCSE’s. I particularly enjoy IT because I love
working with computers and I wish to go into a career with the IT field. I am a hard-working
pupil and put in a lot of effort by doing independent learning outside of school as I wish to
achieve the best grades possible. By doing this I believe I will be able to get into my chosen
sixth form and study my chosen subjects, therefore enabling me to get onto my chosen degree
course.

During my time at secondary school, I believe that I have grown as an individual. I believe that I
have matured, have become more ambitious and have the drive to do the best in everything I
do. Throughout these years, I have grown to be more independent as well as being able to work
as part of a team. I enjoy working with others, sharing my ideas and listening to what others
have to say, therefore showing that I have good communication skills.

Throughout high school, I have developed many of my skills. I have good time management
skills and these are seen through my ability to meet coursework deadlines. I am well organised
and am always prepared for all lessons, therefore showing that I am mature and responsible. I
have great communication skills and I have displayed these during my work experience
placement, where I was able to work with the other members of staff in a professional manner.
This also enabled me to build a very good rapport with them as well as developing my team
working skills.

At the start of Year 11, I completed work experience at City Computer Systems LTD. This was a
good experience for me as I had the opportunity to work within a field that interests me and
this experience gave me an insight into the world of work. I demonstrated good attendance and
punctuality throughout the week, and showed my commitment and interest by completing all
the tasks I was set. During the week, I was also able to challenge myself and use my initiative
when solving technical problems, which I had never come across before. I learnt a lot from this
experience as I was able to broaden my knowledge and I believe that the knowledge I have
gained from this experience will benefit me in the future. My interests and hobbies include
spending time with my friends and also listening to music, which helps me to relax when I am
under pressure.

After completing my GCSE’s, I wish to stay on and complete my A-Levels at Holly Lodge Sixth
Form, where I intend to study BTEC Business alongside BTEC Double IT. I have chosen to study
Business as I am currently studying this subject at GCSE. This subject interests me and the
interest I have has made me want to continue to study this subject further at a higher level. I
have also chosen Double IT as this field interests me and I wish to pursue a career within this
field in the future. I believe that these subjects will help me get into the IT field, which interests
me.
