“TEACHING PROFESSION”

“Teaching is the noblest profession.” For me, the best Philosophy of education that
relates the most in my own philosophy is Progressivism. A teacher’s role is to be a
channel of change and transformation to every child he encounters. Hi mission is to
create promising professionals in the future. He enlightens the mind and fills up the
hearts of his pupils. He is to make sure that in order for these goals and visions to be
attained and fulfilled, he needs o create an active, interesting and full of fun class.
In my experience today being a student-teacher and having a small group to teach, I
can say how hard yet beautiful teaching is. It is challenging yet so fun. Teaching
emergent learners eats up almost of your time but every development I see to my learners
is rewarding. In a progressivist type of classroom, I must always make sure that it will
remain active through interactions and sharing because through this, the learners learn the
value of expressing ones’ thought, listening to other’s opinion of course cooperating one
another. I always believe that education should be a process of ongoing growth, not just a
preparation for becoming an adult that is why I let productive conversations that is both
related to our lessons that can be applied and actually experienced in real life situations.
We actively learn through discussion and even in our playing time. I must always see to it
that in everything they do there must always learning and progress both in their intellect
and character. For me it is always important to learn through experience rather than just
memorizing and listening to theories. I always believe that even in play or formal
experimentations, children can learn because when their hands and minds start to work,
there is education that leads to change and transformation.
For me, it will always and forever be teaching. Teaching is the noblest profession of
all because you are becoming just like a candle. As you give light to every eye that needs
to see and mind that needs to know, you are giving your life.
