Define the following terms

1. Triangle
A triangle is a polygon with three vertices and three edges and it is a closed, two dimensional
shape. The sum of the three interior angles is always 180 degrees.

2. Quadrilateral
A quadrilateral is a closed two dimensional shape that has 4 straight sides, 4 interior angles of
a quadrilateral is 360 degrees and 4 vertices. They could either be irregular or regular shapes.

3. Polygons
A polygon is a plane figure that is described by a finite number of straight line segments
connected to form a closed shape that has no curved sides.

4. Tangents
A straight line or plane that touches a curve or curved surface at a point, but if extended does
not cross it at that point.

5. Ellipse
A regular oval shape, traced by a point moving in a plane so that the sum of its distances from
two other points is constant, or resulting when a cone is cut by an oblique plane which does not
intersect the base.

6. Parabola
A parabola is a symmetrical open plane curve formed by the intersection of a cone with a plane
parallel to its side. It involves a line and a point that is at an equal distance from a fixed point to
a fixed straight line.

7. Hyperbola
A hyperbola is a type of smooth curve lying in a plane that are symmetrically formed by the
intersection of two equal cones on opposite sides of the same vertex.

8. Cycloid
Cycloid is the curve traced by a point on a circle as it rolls along a straight line without slipping.
9. Helical Spring
A helical or coil spring is a mechanical device which is typically used to store energy and
subsequently release it, to absorb shock, or to maintain a force between contacting surfaces.
Helical is defined by the circular motion of the spring.
