Foyle Search & Rescue

My Role:
- For this project I was put forward as a mixture of a director
and producer, this involved me working on the pre-production
work and communicating with the client about all
arrangements for the project. I also oversaw directing the
camera men and audio recording and informing them on how
we were going to shoot the project. I worked very closely the
client themselves to ensure we got the best product possible
for them.

Organising the event:

- There was difficulty when making arrangements for the team
and the client due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, this made
things very difficult forcing us to use a reduced team and
giving us limited access to any locations which involved
travel. During the shoot we had to ensure to follow all Covid-19
guidelines put in place including social distancing and the use
of ppe. As producer/director in was my job to ensure all
members of the team and the client’s team were kept safe on
the shoot. As the shoot was outside weather conditions was
also something I had to consider as we where using very
expensive equipment that could be damaged by heavy rain or
freezing temperatures. To ensure the shoot could go ahead as
scheduled I checked the weather for the day of the shoot
every 24hrs on the week leading up and keeping both the
client and the tea up to date.

Evaluation pre-edit:
- Thankfully, the weather held up for the day of the shoot and
we managed to have several takes to ensure we got all the
footage we needed. The open environment in which we filmed
also aloud us to cohere with the current Covid-19 restrictions
and ensured everyone participating was kept safe.
