ECO-AMBASSADORS’ CAMPAIGN: ITS EFFECTIVENES TO THE LEVEL OF

ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS OF THE STUDENTS IN ST. MARY’S COLLEGE

OF BALIUAG

ABSTRACT

One of humanity’s duty is to look after the environment in order to maintain its

cleanliness. That is why the Eco-Ambassadors’ Organization was launched in order to help the

Ignacian Marians into restoring the environment’s original state. This research has tested if the

campaigns of the said organization are productive. It is hypothesized that the actions of the

aforementioned group in St. Mary’s College of Baliuag has the influence to the students’

environmental awareness. The purpose of this triangulation study was to investigate the students’

knowledge of the Eco-Ambassadors’ campaigns and advocacy and whether they apply these

learnings through actions which influences their environmental awareness. Findings from the

surveys administered to 176 junior and senior high school students showed that the

organization’s campaigns are highly effective and has made a positive impact to the

environmental awareness of the students. Recommendations are made in maintaining the good

effect of the campaigns to the school community.
