STRUCTURE
The structure of the conditional zero:

You already know that conditionals are sentences made up of two phrases. Exactly, the
conditional zero has the following concrete structure:

If + subject + simple present, subject + simple present

The order of the two sentences that make up the structure of the conditional can be
changed, with that you have no problem; But remember that if the phrase with if is second,
the comma is not placed before it.

FUNCTION
The "zero conditional" is used when the time we are referring to is now or always and the
situation is real and possible. This type of conditional is often used to talk about general
facts. The verb tense of both propositions is the "simple present". In conditional sentences
of type 0, the term "if" can normally be replaced by "when" without changing the meaning.

This type of conditional is used in situations in which if a condition is met, the same result
always occurs.

The zero conditional is used to express facts that are always true, such as scientific facts,
scientific laws, general truths, etc.

In addition to true facts, the zero conditional can also be used to give instructions.

EXAMPLE
1. If people eat too much, they get fat.
2. If you touch a fire, you get burned.
3. People die if they don't eat.
4. Snakes bite if they are scared.
5. If babies are hungry, they cry.
6. If you heat water to 100 degrees, it boils.
7. If children study, then their parents are happy.
8. Plants die if they don’t get enough water.
9. If I drink coffee, my stomach hurts
10. if you freeze water, in turns into ice
ESTRUCTURA
La estructura del cero condicional:

Ya sabes que los condicionales son oraciones compuestas por dos frases. Exactamente, el
cero condicional tiene la siguiente estructura concreta:

Si + sujeto + presente simple, sujeto + presente simple

El orden de las dos frases que componen la estructura del condicional se puede cambiar,
con eso no tienes problema; pero recuerda que si la frase con if va en segundo lugar,
delante no se pone la coma.

FUNCIÓN
El "zero conditional" se utiliza cuando el tiempo al que nos referimos es ahora o siempre y
la situación es real y posible. Este tipo de condicional suele emplearse para hablar de
hechos generales. El tiempo verbal de ambas proposiciones es el "simple present". En las
oraciones condicionales de tipo 0, el término "if" puede normalmente sustituirse por
"when" sin que cambie el significado.

Este tipo de condicional se usa en situaciones en las si se cumple una condición, siempre se
da un mismo resultado.

El zero conditional se utiliza para expresar hechos que siempre son verdaderos como, por
ejemplo, hechos científicos, leyes científicas, verdades generales, etc.

Además de hechos verdaderos, el zero conditional también se puede utilizar para

dar instrucciones.

EJEMPLOS
 1. Si la gente come demasiado, se obtienen grasas.
2. Si toca un incendio, se consigue quemado.
3. La gente muere si no come.
4. Las serpientes muerden si tienen miedo
5. Si los bebés tienen hambre, lloran
6. Si calientas agua a 100 grados, hierve
7. Si los niños estudian, sus padres son felices
8. Las plantas mueren si no obtienen suficiente agua
9. Si tomo café, me duele el estómago
10. Si congelas el agua, se convierte en hielo
