Introduction
These following lines will discuss the suggested proposals for the belt conveyor (4315.BC2) take-up
station which make the accessibility to reach the Take-Up station for regressing, inspection, and
even maintenance activities to be done with safety work environment.

We have two issues for the take-up station and they are as following:
a- Greasing activities Issue:
Problem:
The take-up station at height around 16750 mm, which make the greasing activities for the
bearings of the take-up station tension drum to be done with unsafe work environment.
Suggested Proposal:
For bearings greasing of the take-up station tension drum we can install flexible hoses
from the tension drum bearings till the ground level, and this proposal is applicable and
already applied in many factories.

b- Inspection and Maintenance Activities Issue:

Problem:
The take-up station at height around 16750 mm, which make the inspection and
maintenance activities to be done with unsafe work environment.
Suggested Proposals:
1- The first proposal is to reach the take-up station from a gate at the belt conveyor
walkway to the first station through a monkey stairs (photo no.2, 3, 4, 5), and continue
to the second and third stations through the cage ladder (Photo no.5, 6).

2- The second proposal is to reach the take-up station from the gate at the belt
conveyor walkway to the first station through the monkey stairs (photo no.2, 3, 4), and
so from the first station to the second station, also through a gate and a monkey stairs
to reach to the third station.
Note: The gates and monkey stairs already fabricated between the walkway and first station
only, and need to be fabricated for the second and third station.

3- The third proposal is the same of the second proposal except that the stairs from
station to another to be inclined stairs with handrails. (See photo no.8)
Notes: This suggested inclined stairs between station to another is similar to the one in the
photo no.8 but with smaller dimension, also this proposal need civil engineering studies for the
suitable inclined angles, and current steel structure possibility to accept this new inclined stairs
with handrails.

For any proposal of the second issue during maintenance activities a mobile crane
will be used, also scaffolding around the tension drum will be required
