Active Planning

Overall, planning for this project has been fairly straight forward and my tasks, subtasks and contingency plans have been

working to keep myself on track to meet the specific deadlines. In order to keep myself on task, I take time at the beginning of each

week and organize the products that need to be complete and their deadlines. As I do this, I plan out the time that I will need to

complete each product by organizing the tasks and subtasks that need to be done. I am now finding that if I work on the product

earlier in the day, this allows me time to reach out to colleagues or my client for clarification on specific products or tasks.

When it comes to tasks and subtasks, the experience I have had with the products prior has helped my narrow down my

tasks and subtasks to complete the products on time. Also, as I become more familiar with the products and the tasks and subtasks I

use to complete the product, I am finding it easier to better manage my time to get them done. At first, I think I was planning to use

more time than actually necessary for certain tasks when I could be using this time to complete other tasks or subtasks that were

necessary for other products. There was one product that I was unable to complete due to a family emergency that was obviously

unforeseen. Unfortunately, I should have planned within my contingencies a little better in order for me to have avoided this. This

mistake though, did help me learn to plan for these types of things within my contingencies which I have added to my project plan for

the remaining products there are to complete. I have also learned to be more aware and manage these tasks and subtasks more

closely.

As for my contingencies, if they were to arise (which they have) I am now aware of a better process to avoid falling behind. If

my computer were to break or my internet were to fail, I have a back up computer that I will use to complete the tasks and subtasks

for each product in order to stay on track. If I were to not understand the product material to its fullest, I have planned to give myself

more time to understand the information and produce a successful, high scoring product. If I were to have a personal or family

emergency again, I will better prepare to complete the tasks sooner rather than later or have my computer with me so I can complete

the work wherever I may be when dealing with the event that has come up. Lastly, I know that time will be of an essence with the

Holiday season approaching so if I were to find myself running out of time to complete tasks and subtasks due to Holiday travel, etc. I

have planned to complete the products ahead of time so I don’t have to worry about falling behind with the busy holiday schedule. I

feel that if I stick to my project plan, follow my listed tasks and subtasks and plan accordingly for possible contingencies to arise, I will

be able to complete the project successfully.
