Unit 1 - DQ#1
The list of the PMBOK, there were described for the area of process frame work in 10
process which are as following:
(1) Integration Management (INT)
(2) Scope Managements (SCO)
(3) Time Management (TM)
(4) Cost Management (COS)
(5) Quality Management (QUA)
(6) Human Resources Management (HUM)
(7) Communication Management (COM)
(8) Risk Management (RIS)
(9) Procurement Management (PRO)
(10) Stakeholder Management (STA)

In order to set the clear and understanding in proper way, there will be some explanation as
following based on the above said PMBOK’s 10 process frame.
Integration Management (INT) is combine, consolidate and like the variation processes and
activities which working plan with development project charter (initiating), Develop project
is planning to drive and Manage Project Execution (Executing), advisor controlling Project,
similarity in Control and Close Project or phase(initiation).
Scope Management (SCO) is concerned with deciding and controlling which is not included
in the project with the included process of collective requirements, represent scope, create
WBS, validated which is based on the planning process and observing & controlling process
group.
Time Management (TM) includes the development requirement to manage timely integration
of the project and proper listing management, Defines Action, Progression movement action,
Estimate Activity, Develop plan and Control in order to develop and outputs accordingly.
Cost Management (CM) process is to establish the policy and procedures, recording for
projection, distributing, managing and controlling the project cost. The key benefits is to
provide guidance & direction on the project costs which will be managed throughout the
project as per cost management processes per PMBOK, determining budget and control cost
in order to set up the processes group, initiation, planning, execution and control.
Quality Management (QM) the contents if the project management plan in organizing quality
management baseline include project scope statement, work breakdown structures to contains
the accept plan performance measurement including start and finish dare in to measure cost
performance which has to be established the standard and processes to be used in quality
goal, quality assurance (establish and executive compliance activities) and quality control
which is Monitor and Adjust in order to analysis quality related trends.
Human Resources Management (HRM) is Developing of Human Resource plan process of
describing and supporting project roles, duty and requires skill, recording relationships, and
creating a staffing management plan which involved the inputs plan of activity resource
requirement. Organizational process assets as well as tools and techniques of organization
chart and position descriptions, networking and organizational theory which need to go to
direct output results in Human resource plan.
Communication Management (COM) This is contains the methods or technologies which
used to bring the information, example: memos, email and or press release, etc.,.
Communication management with possible sequence of empowering, list of report, and
meeting plan and its constraints usually derived from a specific legislation or regulation,
technology and organization. This management plan can also include guidelines and
templates for project status, plan communications, distribute information, Manage
Stakeholder expectations and report control communications.
Risk Management (RIS) Risk management consists of identify risks, perform qualitative risk
analysis, perform quantitative risk analysis and plan risk response and monitor and control
risks which is included in planning process group. Because it is every project has risk and the
whole point of undertaking a project is to achieve or establish something new, to venture, to
take chances, to risk as said in project management body of knowledge (PMBOK), 1987 said.
Procurement Management (PRO) is documenting the purchasing arrangement, pointing out
the access, and describing the potential sellers which working with procurement process will
be managed from developing procurement documentation through contract closure and the
project scope baseline and to be included the procurement item to allow prospective sellers to
determine the product service which is included procurement documents of RFI (Request for
Information), IFB (Invitation for Bid), RFP (Request for proposal) and RFQ (Request for
Quotation).
Stakeholder Management (STA) is contains included inputs, tools and techniques and outputs
such as project management plan, stakeholder register, enterprise environmental factors and
organizational process assets which is linked to the tools and techniques of expert judgment,
meetings and analytical technique, it can male directly to the outputs of stakeholder,
management plan and procurement documents update.

Aside to the why project fail even using the PMBOOK, it means lack of clear link between
the project and the organization key priorities which is including agreed measures of success.
And lack of clear senior management and ministerial ownership and leadership as well as
lack of effective engagement with stakeholders. Failure to adequately planning, identify, cost,
risk and quality, documents and track requirements. Lack of skills and proven approach to
project management and risk management, and too little attention to breaking development
and implementation into manageable steps which make evaluation of proposal driven by
initial process rather than long term value for money. Lack of understanding of and contact
with the supply industry at senior levels in the organization and project team integration
between clients, and the suppliers team as well as supply chain [ CITATION SHE13 \l
1033 ].
Project management need to know the below triangle stage in order to implement to increase
success based on the knowledge area as below;
In order to achieve to success, there were 10 knowledge’s areas as above mentioned, should
be settles and to make clear in order to avoid lacking area in each and respective area. Those
are to identify and manage relationship with people who can impact or who get impacted by
the project. And If all small part of project work is to be done by and expert seller, this is all
the know how of how to deal with it to make it clear in procurement section. There will be
plenty of threats as well as opportunities, identifying them in order to prepare for them and
they do happen, address and control them in Risk management part. To keep all stakeholders
in the know and distribute right information to the right people at the right time in
communication factor. And to success of any project, most challenging for the project
manager is because if dealing with people needs great deal of interpersonal skills. After all it
will be able to identify project activities and estimate their resource and create project
schedule right there and that is in line with stakeholder’s expectation and based on the
knowledge line to be successes [ CITATION PMB1 \l 1033 ]

DQ#2 List of the PMBOK process Groups and why project fail even using the PMBOK,
and to increase success based on the process groups?

Below table is list PMBOK 5 process group diagram which linked to the initiating, planning,
executing, controlling and closing. Each of these subject is important role to be on success,
lets says about initiating is to develop project charter and preliminary project scope. For the
planning should be included project management plan, scope planning, Cost budgeting,
Human Resource planning, Risk Management planning. For the executing part direct manage
in project management and perform quality assurance and request for seller response and
select seller. For the controlling is manage project team, perform re positing manage
stakeholder and contract administration. At the least of closing part is included contract
closure.
As above said all subjects are important for each role and it has to be careful when we deal on
it. Project might be fail even we using the PMBOK if we cannot manage proper way in the
right procedures . There are many reasons that project fail, let me highlights the top 5 given
in this report which we will look at in more depth which is (1) what the user wanted (2) what
the budget allowed for (3) what the timescale allowed for (4) what the technician designed
and (5) what the user finally got. Those are the main subject to make the project fails,
however the failure factor has common reasons for project failures which is poor project
specification, Unrealistic TIMESCALES, Timescales that are too long, Inappropriate STAFF,
Insufficient involvement by senior management, failure to manage user expectations and
failure to manage the change required as well as lack of team work, resistance from groups or
individuals and lack of project management competence. On these effective of a failing
project is schedule, slippage, quality problems, budget overruns, products that don’t meet the
business need, elevated staff turnover, etc which failures arise lack of situational awareness,
inexperience and training issues, cognitive biases, political issues, trust or openness,
misaligned goals, communication problems, dysfunctional corporate culture. These are the
side effective of failing project even sing the PMBOK [ CITATION Adv08 \l 1033 ].
In order to increase success based on the process groups, it should be settled and set up as
below content:
- Team members with high competence and expertise
- Team members with great motivation
- Coherent, self organizing team work
- Managers knowledgeable in agile process
- Managers who have light touch or adaptive management style
- Good customer relationship

Making project success based on the process group, project integration management should
be implemented for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling and closing
which make to develop project sector such as Develop project charter, Develop primary
project scope statement, Develop project management plan, Direct and manage project
execution, Monitor and control project work, Integrate change control and Close project
[ CITATION XMi141 \l 1033 ].
