1.

The research questions you formulate gives focus to the research, as well as guide the
appropriacy of the decisions make. If the research questions are not clearly formulated, or have
no direction, you will find yourself with too much data and yet not knowing what to do with
them. The research question express clearly the specific direction or focus of your research
problem or inquiry.
2. A good research question requires a judgement to be made is it of global or local importance.
Allows for debate between different perspectives Allows for the answer to be in the middle
ground or to synthesis different perspectives Is simple – one idea rather than many.

3. That’s because research questions are more than handy tools; they are essential to the
research process. By defining exactly what the researcher is trying to find out, these
questions influence most of the rest of the steps taken to conduct the research. That’s true
even if the research is not for academic purposes but for other areas of our lives.
For instance, if you’re seeking information about a health problem in order to learn
whether you have anything to worry about, research questions will make it possible for
you to more effectively decide whether to seek medical help–and how quickly.
Or, if you’re researching a potential employer, having developed and used research
questions will mean you’re able to more confidently decide whether to apply for an
internship or job there. The confidence you’ll have when making such decisions will
come from knowing that the information they’re based on was gathered by conscious
thought rather than serendipity and whim.

4. Research is important in our everyday life because it gives us a light to inquire about the
right information. Develops and attitude to not believe everything easily available and go
on one track. Sharpens the brain and gives it a judicious vision to look. Leads us to the
ultimate philosophy of all the subjects and builds a graphic vision of life. Empowers us
with knowledge and efficient learning of new things and helps us in understanding
various issues of life in a larger manner.

5. Research is about more than just the scientific principles and discoveries you are making.
It is about sharing these discoveries with fellow researchers and with the public. And to
do this, researchers must publish their work in journals. Strong writing is the key to
making your research more accessible and powerful.
