The Discussion

Test Format
 Waktu antara 4 hingga 5 menit.
 Penguji akan menanyakan pertanyaan lebih lanjut yang berhubungan dengan part 2.
 Bagian ini membicarakan masalah dan gagasan yang lebih abstrak.

Penilaian
Overall, you will be assessed on your:
 fluency and coherence
 vocabulary
 range of grammar and accuracy
 pronunciation.

Tips
1. Cobalah selalu untuk menjelaskan, meskipun tidak dapat menemukan kata yang spesifik. Parafrase lah
pertanyaan.

2. Selalu berikan Alasan, Efek, Perbandingan, Contoh Pendukung, Pengalaman.

3. Hindari selalu memberikan informasi dan contoh pribadi, karena harus menjadi pembahasan yang
abstrak.

4. Jika penguji menanyakan pertanyaan yang tidak mengerti,

 Jika penguji menggunakan kata atau frase yang tidak Anda mengerti:
"Sorry but could you explain what you mean by ..."
"I‘m not familiar with that word/expression. Could you please explain what you mean?"

 Jika Anda tidak mendengar sebagian dari pertanyaan itu


"Excuse me, I didn't quite catch that. Could you say that again?"
"I'm sorry, but would you mind repeating that?"

 Jika Anda ingin memperjelas apa yang ditanyakan penguji:


"Do you mean ........"
"When you say ........, do you mean/are you asking ........?

 Pastikan menguraikan dan memberikan jawaban detail yang diperlukan.


Contoh.
Question : what kinds of hobbies that you enjoy doing?
“One of my many hobbies is taking pictures. (Don't stop here! Add more details/information)
I find taking pictures fun and challenging. It is also a great way of keeping precious memories.“

 SELALU memberikan contoh untuk membantu menjelaskan pernyataan.


Contoh.
“I need it for my studies. (Don't stop here! Add more details/information!)
I've been offered to continue my studies on Business Management, but I need to prove my level of
English is good enough.
