Dear Br. Pat:

Praise be Jesus and Mary, His mother!

The SMC Marist Youth Cross began its journey to the different Marist Schools in the
Philippines last November 20, 2020, the World Children’s Day, from Notre Dame of
Kidapawan College to Notre Dame of Cotabato, Inc. through collaboration of CMRE and
SMC Club. This pilgrimage is facilitated through the SMC Club in coordination with the
CMRE, which is in connection to the last year’s Year of the Youth and this year’s Year
of the Mission.
May we seek prayers for this pilgrimage that this will ignite all more fire of faith among
our young people who are BELOVED, GIFTED and EMPOWERED by Him as partakers
in His MISSION of proclaiming His love to all.

We will also send the send-off prayer and acceptance rites of the Marist Youth Cross.

Thank you for your kind attention, and express our anticipation of your full support for
this meaningful endeavor which we offer our young people.

Respectfully yours,

BR. ALLAN DE CASTRO, FMS

MEC Chairman / MEC-CMRE Chairman
THE MARIST YOUTH CROSS
The Cross is the symbol of God’s unconditional love.
The Marist Youth Cross signifies the response of Saint Marcellin
Champagnat Marist Youths in the Philippines in journeying together as one Marist
Family carrying on God’s call and mission of making Jesus known and loved and
realizing Champagnat’s dreams today in one’s respective vocation and leadership
roles in the Church, community and society.
The symbols of the Marist Youth Cross reminds us of the 5 General Chapter
Calls with the Saint Marcellin Champagnat Club logo in the base of the cross
with Mary, Our Good Mother, and Saint Marcellin Champagnat, our model and
founder, as our inspirations. The image below the cross, the hand and foot, entails
the significant roles of young people and the servant leadership of SMC Marist
Youths. As agents of social transformation, they journey together as a global
charismatic family represented by the yellow, blue, red and green colors of young
people in solidarity with one heart and mission who carry on the mission in East
Asia (with the bamboo cross) and wherever God leads them making Jesus known
and loved…

…to be a beacon of HOPE in this turbulent world…

…to be the FACE and HANDS of your tender

mercy…

…to inspire our creativity to be bridge-builders…

…to journey with children & young people living on the margins of life…

…to respond boldly to emerging needs…

PRAYER AS MARISTS OF CHAMPAGNAT

Transform us Jesus, and send us
as a global charismatic family, a beacon of hope in this turbulent world,
to be the face and hands of your tender mercy.
Inspire our creativity to be bridge-builders,
to journey with children and young people on the margins of life,
and to respond boldly to emerging needs.
