ACTIVITY

DESCRIPTION As per DepEd Order No. 10, s, 2016 entitled Policy and Guidelines on
the Comprehensive water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in Schools
(WinS), all schools are advised to submit updated online monitoring using
the Three Star Approach.
OBJECTIVES In line with DepEd Order No. 10, s, 2016, the conduct of the activity is to:
 Ensure a safe and conducive learning environment in school.
 Enable children to be in best condition to participate and learn in
school.
 Improve access to adequate water supply, functional toilet and
effective hygiene promotion.
 Strengthen school-community partnership.
 Ensure compliance of school on the implementation of
safety/health protocols.
PRELIMINARIES  Downloaded the excel-based encoding forms from http://deped-
wins.sysdb.site
DESIGNS AND METHODOLOGY  Accomplishing the excel-based encoding form with updated data
OF THE EVENT and uploading it to the WinS website.
MANAGEMENT AND The activity was managed by the school head, SBM WinS Coordinator and
MONITORING STRATEGIES TWG Members.

LOGISTIC ARRANGEMENTS All needed requirements were taken in the school resources, and school
MOOE.

INNOVATION/ INITIATIVE Advanced dissemination on the conduct of the activity to the community
and barangay officials.
PARTICIPANTS FEEDBACK  The monitoring tool is very easy to accomplish.

ISSUES AND CHALLENGES  Some part of the survey is not applicable for the current situation
since all students are now at their own houses doing modular
learning.
 Took a long time in uploading the excel-based form to the Wins
SBM WinS website because of slow internet access.
INTERVENTIONS  Conducted by the School WinS Technical Working Group.
IMPLEMENTED

NEW PLANNED STRATEGIES  Create and implement more projects and programs that promotes
FOR NEXT CONDUCT correct hygiene and sanitation practices through hygiene and
sanitation education and the provision of standard for safe water
supply and appropriate sanitation facilities.
