VALIDITY means measuring what needs to be measured.


RELIABILITY means consistency of results.

The most reliable/stable measure of variability is STANDARD DEVIATION.


The most reliable/stable measure of central tendency without presence of extreme scores is MEAN.

TEACHER’S GENEROSITY = a teacher has a tendency to give high grades to a specific student as
compared to other students.

NUMERICAL/LETTER GRADE = perceived to be the absolute measures of intelligence.

CORRELATION STUDY (connection) is required in Concurrent validity (Ex: connecting present exam to
past exam).

Percentage is for CRITERION-REFERENCED as Percentile is for NORM-REFERENCED.

Median is for POINT/FOCUS as Standard Deviation is for DISTANCE/SPREADNESS.
