He is known as a classroom management theorist.

He is an educational theorist who focused on a teacher’s ability to affect


student behavior through instructional management.

He suggested that discipline and instruction can be utilized as one to


produce an effective classroom environment.

Through Jacob Kounin, the Ripple effect was discovered, which tells that
the student’s behavior influences other student’s behavior.

Kounin’s conclusion: the key to successful and effective classroom is not


how teachers correct misbehaviors, but how they prevent the
misbehavior from happening.

He created the good learning/teaching movements.
