READING YOUR WAY

Read the diary entry of

Patty. What can you say about the relationship with her father?

Daddy is Back Home!

28 November 2018
Dear Diary,
I feel so happy today! I finally got to be with Daddy again
after a year. I missed him a lot! He has been away because of
work in Singapore. He needs to go back there but not until
January next year. That means he will be with us to celebrate
Christmas and New Year!
Mommy and I were so glad to meet him at the airport early
this morning. I was not able to sleep well last night because I
was excited! I made a poster that says, “Welcome Back, Daddy!”
and asked Mommy’s help to put it up on the wall. Daddy said it
is nice and creatively done. He thinks I got my talent in arts from
him.
We had breakfast together. I had cheese waffle and hot
chocolate. The food was so yummy! Daddy also enjoyed the
special fried rice and omelet that Mommy prepared for him.
While eating, I told Daddy about the school presentation that we
have been preparing for our Christmas program. He said he will
watch it with Mommy and will make sure to take a video of it.
Daddy gave me a big stuffed toy, chocolates, and coloring
materials that he bought from Singapore. He told me to cuddle
the teddy bear as I sleep and to share the chocolates with my
classmates and teachers. I liked the coloring books and crayons
most of all! I tried them instantly and finished coloring a page
before late in the afternoon.
Daddy needs to get some rest today but he promised that
we will go out tomorrow to meet some of our relatives. I am
happy we will be able to play again with Mikka, my favorite
cousin. We will also go to Baguio next week, so we could visit
the parks and other nice places there.
I love my parents and I hope we will have more happy
moments together while Daddy is here.

Love,
Patty
