(1) Why is listening an important skill to develop among learners of English as a Second Language?
 Listening is important before they will be able to respond. It is an important skill to
develop among learners of English because it gives them more time to process and
allow input. Such skill is needed to acquire Second Language to build vocabulary, to be
able to guess from context and work on the listening strategies.
(2) Choose at least two listening activities which you would like to use in your target class.
Consider the following points in your answer:
(a) Describe your target class as to year level, proficiency/ability in the use of the language
(beginner, intermediate or advanced), and homogeneity/heterogeneity.
(b) Name your target objective(s)
(c) Be able to explain why the chosen activities are appropriate to your class and addresses your
