Scope ‘This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the method of long_ hill climbing test for automobiles. 2, ‘Test Method 2.1 The condition of the automobile to be tested and test appliances shall be in accordance with JIS D 1010. 2.2 As the test roadway, 10 km of a road with good surface condition which includes a long hill with a gradient of about 7 degrees shall be selected. 2.3 The automobile being tested shall be attached with a fuel consumption measuring apparatus. 2.4 The automobile shall be made run the test measuring section in the shortest time by appropriately changing the speed, and the running distance, time required, temperatures of respective parts (cooling water, engine ofl, speed change gear ofl, reduction gear oil, and the like), and fuel consumption quantity shall be measured and in addition, the state of use of the speed change gear shall be observed. 2,5 The test records and results shall be written as shown in Appended Table.
