JIS #9300 92 MM 4933608 OS10420 T93 a UDC 621,791.75 JAPANESE INDUSTRIAL STANDARD Js General rules for arc welding © 9300-1992 ‘power sources 1. Scope : ‘This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies common matters relating to arc welding machines receiving a.c. power as the input and mainly consisting of fa transformer and an output regulating device() and engine driven are welding machines (hereafter referred to as "engine arc welders") among drooping characteristic and constant voltage characteristic a.c. or d.c. welding machines, and the auxdiary power sources accommodated in such welding machines. However, this Standard does not specify the accessories (voltage reducing device, high frequency generating device for TIG welding, ete.), they shall comply with the provisions if separately specified. Note (+) The output regulating device means a device which regulates the output characteristics, output current, output voltage and e@ its waveform. Remarks: The following Standards are cited in this Standard JIS C 1102-Flectrical Indicating Instruments JIS C 1302-Insulation Resistance Testers (Battery Operated) JIS C 4003-Classification of Materials for Insulation of Electrical Machinery and Apparatus 2. Definitions For the purpose of this Standard the following principal definitions apply: (2) are welding machine A machine which supplies the current and voltage of suitable characteristic for arc welding and associated works. Hereafter it is referred to as "welders" in this Standard. (2) drooping characteristic Such a static external characteristic that the e@ output current does not change remarkably when the load voltage changes. The characteristic which shows especially small current change is called constant current characteristic and this is included in this category. (3) constant voltage cheracteristic Such a static external characteristic that the Toad voltage does Hot change remarkably when the output current changes. « fed value The constant value assigned by the manufacturer to ‘ensure normal operation of a welder. (S) input circuit The circuit which receives the power necessary for wading (6) output cireuit The circuit which supplies the power necessary for ne Copyright bythe dapanese Industria Standards Sum May 11 1049559 1997 This is the trial version, if you wish use all functions in this software, please purchase it from our website: http://www. verypdf. com/ Thanks. The loading conditions, if provided, shall be followed. (20) temperature rise The difference between the temperature of the Soubited point of a welder and the temperature of ambient atmosphere of the welder. (21) type inspection ‘The inspection to decide whether the quality and Ges ctesties of the products of a type are good or not. (22) routine inspection ‘The inspection carried out on individual product. (23) acceptance inspection The inspection carried out as agreed between the parties concerned with acceptance. (24) auxiliary power supply ‘The power supply accommodated in a welder oO forthe purpose of use other than welding such as lighting and motor ‘operated tools. However, power supply utilizing no-load voltage of welder is excluded. 3. Service conditions 3.1 Standard service conditions Unless otherwise specified, welders shall operate without any abnormality under the following conditions: (2). The ambient temperature is, -10°C to +40°C for welders receiving the input from a.c. power supply, and -5°C to +40°C for engine driven ones. (2) The altitude is not exceeding 1000 m (3) Such atmospheric conditions thet gases or fine particles produced by normal are welding exists ® (4) The relative humidity of aris, not more than 50% at 40°C, and not more than 90 $ at 20°C. 3.2 Speclal service conditions When a welder is intended for work under one of the tens given below, Tt is called as special service conditions, and in this case the user shall previously specify these conditions to the manu- facturer . (2) The ambient temperature is other than stated in 3.1 (1) (2) The altitude exceeds 1000 m (3) Existence of corrosive gases, abnormal dust, ete. (4) The relative humidity of sir exceeds that of 3.1 (4) e (5) Receiving of abnormal vibration Copyright bythe Japanese industria Standards ‘Sun May 11 1049.59 1997 This is the trial version, if you wish use all functions in this software, please purchase it from our website: http://www. verypdf. com/ Thanks. Install the welder a5 fi normal service, drop water drops from a height of not less than 200 mm above the specimen at a rate of 3 mm/min while the falling direction is changed from the vertical to 15 degrees, for 10 min, stop the dropping of water and immediately carry out the test of 7.3, 7.4 and 7.7 in the given order, Copyright bythe Japanese Industriel Standards Sun May 11 104359 1997 This is the trial version, if you wish use all functions in this software, please purchase it from our website: http://www. verypdf. com/ Thanks. (AY Method for determination of reference ambient temperature The Feference ambient temperature shall be the mean Value of the temperatures measured by at least three thermometers of thermocouple type or the like uniformly located around the welder to be tested. Install the thermometers at a height approximately 1/2 of the height of the welder, and a distance 1 m to 2m from the welder. If the ambient temperature changes during the temperature test, take the e average value of the temperatures measured and recorded every 10 min during the latter half of the test duration as the reference ambient temperature. 7.6 Input voltage fluctuation test Change the input voltage of the welder by 1 10 Civom the Fated value,-and confirm that the welder operates normally. It is not necessary that the specimen satisfies all the performance requirements of this Standard at input voltages other than the rated input voltage. 7.7 Characteristic test Carry out the measurements by using the measuring instruments of class Index 0.5 or better specified in JIS C 1102. (1) Rated input power Apply the rated input voltage of the rated Frequorey tothe Taput side, edjust the output regulating device so that the rated output current flows at the rated load voltage on the output side, and then measure the input power. (3) Adjustable range of output Apply the rated input voltage of the Fe aa ae come waite are eos specified in the detall specification), and measure the values stated below. (a) For the drooping characteristic, measure the minimum and maximum output currents, by adjusting the output regulating device. (b) For the constant voltage characteristic, measure the minimum and maximum load voltages by adjusting the output regulating device.
