Scope ‘This Japanese Industrial Standard Specifies the acceleration test method of automobiles. Test Methods 2,1 The state of testing automobile, test road and testing devices and materials shall be in accordance with JIS D 1010. 2,2 The tests shall be divided into a method by the use of the speed change gear and acceleration pedal from the state of stop (termed as the accelerating test from standstill) and a method by only the operation of the acceleration pedal from an initial velocity (termed as the passing test). 2.3 The accelerating test from standstill shall be as follows: Accelerate an automobile suddenly by using the speed changing gear and acceleration pedal freely from the state of stop, measure the times required to advance to the marked points of 200 m and 400 m and take the reading of indica- tion of speed meter. 2.4 The passing test shall be as follows: Accelerate an automobile suddenly by only the operation of acceleration pedal from an initial velocity of an integer multiple of 10 km/h as low as possible that an automobile can run stably and measure the time required for the increase by each 10 km/h in turn from the position where the indication of speed motor has attained at first the value of an integer multiple of 10 km/h. 2.5 The record and result of test shall be described in Attached Table 1 and Attached Table 2.
