The wires may, however, be plated with tin-lead alloys instead of tin plating. The conductors may, if necessary, be wrapped crosswise with yarns or covered with suitable tapes. (2) Insulation ‘The conductor of 4.(1) shall be covered with one of the nsulating materials given in Table 1, to the thickness given in Attached Tables. The average thickness of the insulation shall be not less than 90 & of the appropriate value in Attached Tables and the minimum of the measured values shell be not less than 80 & of the appropriate value in Attached Tables. e (3) Inner Braid For braided cords and round braided cords, yarns shall be braided (including knitting) around the insulation of 4.(2) as the inner braid. However, if particularly specified, rubber impregnated cloth tape may be applied instead of inner braid. (4) Identification of Cores _ Identification of cores shall be made, as speci- fe 3, by the colour of yarn inserted in the inner braid, the colour of rubber impregrated cloth tape or the colour of insulation. However, for twisted twin cords and flat cords, identification may be made by providing on only one of the cores the coloured thread indicating the kind of insulation specified in 9.1. ‘Table 3 Black, white, red or Diack, white, green Black, white, red, green (S) Outer Braid The outer braid shall be closely formed with twisted ia of cotton yarns (mostly luster yarns), rayon yarns or other yarns. Unless otherwise specified, the outer braid shall be of luster yarns ‘of maroon colour. (6) Sheath For the sheath af the cabtyre cord, sheath materials shown Toble 1 shall be used. The average thickness shall be not than 90 § of the appropriate value in Attached Tables and the minimum of the measured values shall be not less than 70 % of the appropriate value in Attached Tables. by the Japanese Industrial Standards Sal dan 24 11:31:19 2004 JIS C2330} 87 MH 4933608 0027620 } om 1 © 3301-1987 (1) Single-Core Card : Single-core cords shall be formed by applying the FREE TRET of 4.(5) on the insulation of 4.(2). The lay ratio of the strand shall be not more than 16 times the mean helix diameter, and the direction of strand shall be Z-lay. (S) Braided Cord Requires number of cores covered with inner braid or rubber impregnated cloth tape specified in 4.(3) shall be stranded in circular form, and then the outer braid of 4.(5) shall be put on them. ‘The lay ratio of the strand shall be not more than 25 times the mean helix diameter, and the direction of strand shall be Z-lay. For 3- or 4-core cords, cores may, however, be stranded with yarn filler in the centre af stranding. (11) Flat Cord Two conductors of 4.(1) arranged in parallel with a fixed ‘space between them shall be covered with the insulation having the ‘eppropriate thickness shown in Attached Tables. The cords shall be 80 formed that 2 cores can easily be divided in two. (12) Gabtyre Round Cord Requisite number of cores of 4.(2) shall be ig up the space between cores with rubber. The lay ratio of the strand shall be not more than 20 times the mean helix diameter, and the direction of strand shall be Z-lay. And then the sheath of 4.(6) shall be covered thereon.
