However, in the case specially required, it shall be subject of agreement between the parties concerned with delivery. 2. © part and ¢ part shall be measured by determining position according to agreement between the parties concerned with delivery, as required. 3. The measuring position of mid-stop outer diameter shall be A for upper flange part and B, for packing rand part. 4. As to A part or At part of wet cylinder liner, either one part to be the outer diameter fit parts shall be measured. 8.2 Measuring Methods of Dimensions and Accuracies 8.2.1 Obtaining Method of Average Diameter The average diameter of cylinder line? shall | ae (1) Average Value of Measured Values in Perpendicular Two Directions Tt shall be the average value of measured values of diameters in arbitrary two perpendicular directions at each measuring position of Fig. 9, and this fact applies to outer and inner diameters of wet cylinder liner and to inner diameter of dry cylinder semi-product. (2) Average Value of Maximum Value and Minimum Value It shall be the average Value-OF The maximum and minimum values of measured values, of diameters at each measuring position of Fig. 9 and this applies to outer diameters of dry cylinder liner and inner diameter of dry cylinder liner completed product. Remark: In the case of measuring the outer and inner diameters of dry cylinder liner, the measured value might be influenced by deformation of cylinder liner due to measuring load in some cases and therefore it is preferable to use a measuring device of small measuring load, 8.2.2 Outer Diameter The outter diameter of cylinder liner shall be as follows: (1) Wet Cylinder Liner As to wet cylinder liner, it shall be the average alawster OF part part or A‘ part and B part shown in Fig. 9 (2) Dry Cylinder Liner As to dry cylinder liner, it shall be the average Giameter of A-part or C part shown in Fig. 9. 8.2.3 Inner Diameter The inner diameter of cylinder liner shall be the average diameter of a part or c part shown In Fig. 9. 8.2.4 Circularity The circularity of cylinder liner shall be as follows: 4 D 3103-1989 (1) Wet Cylinder Liner (a) The outer diameter circularity shall be taken as the difference between the maximum and the minimum values of measured values of outer diameters at each measuring positions of A, or At and B shown in Fig. 9. (b) The inner diameter circularity shall be taken as the maximum out of the differences between the maximum value and the minimum value of measured values of inner diameters at each measuring positions of a, b and c shown in Fig. 9. (2) Dry Cylinder Liner (a) The outer diameter circularity shall be taken as the maximum out of the differences between the maximum value and the minimum value of measured values of outer diameters at each measuring positions of A, B and C shown in Fig, 9. (b) The inner diameter circularity shall be taken as the maximum out of the differences between the maximum and the minimum values of the ‘measured values of inner diameters at each measuring positions of a, b and ¢ shown in Fig. 9 8.2.5 Cylindricity The cylindricity of cylinder liner shall be as follows: (1) Wet Cylinder Liner The difference of average diameters at inner fiameter measuring positions of a and b shown in Fig. 9 shall be taken as the inner diameter cylindricity. (2) Dry Cylinder Liner The difference of average diameters at A and B ST ciiar HIGmeter wenauring. positions shown Ie Fig. 8 sell be tater ae the outer diameter cylindricity, and the difference of average diameters at inner diameter measuring positions of a and b, as the inner diameter cylindricity. 8.3 Runout of Lower Flange Face to Outer-Diameter Fit Part Rotate, with taking the outer diameter fit part as reference according to the gist shown in Fig. 10, and take the difference between the maximum and the minimum values of readings by micrometer (dial gauge) applied to the lower flange face as the runout of lower flange face to fit part of outer diameter of cylinder liner. D 3103-1989 (4) Surface-Treatment_Inspection 9.2 Inspection Method Each inspection shall be the sampling inspection based on sampiligIapettion plan according to agreement between the parties concerned with delivery. However, the cavity inspection and finished surface inspection shall be of 100 % inspection. 10. Marking Cylinder liners shall be marked with manufacturer's name or its mark according to an indelible method. 15 D 3103-1989 8.4 Wall Thickness Deviation of Outer Diameter and Inner Diameter Rotate with taking the outer diameter (or inner diameter) as reference according to the gist shown in Fig. 11 and take the difference between the maximum and the minimum values of readings of micrometer (dial gauge) applied to inner diameter (or outer diameter) as the wall thickness deviation of outer diameter and inner diameter of cylinder liner.
