Definitions e@ ‘The meaning of the main terms used in this Standard is as follows: (1) rated capacity The on-load input power when a transformer is loaded at the rated input voltage of the rated frequency and the duty cycle of 50 %, and the load is so adjusted that the temperature rise becomes the specified value. It is expressed in kVA. (2) maximum secondary no-load voltage The no-load voltage induced across the secondary tortinals ‘when the rated input voltage te applied to the primary tap which produces the maximum secondary voltage of : the transformer. (3) maximum no-load input voltage The maximum no-load input voltage is je maximum voltage applicable to input terminals of a transformer. 3. Classification The classification of transformers is made as given in Table 1 according to e their types, rated capacity, rated frequency and maximum secondary no-load voltage. Cooling Water e 5.1 Water Temperature The temperature of cooling water for transformers shail nat exoed 80°C SE the inlet. port. 5.2 Water Quality The quality of cooling water for transformers shall be of industrial water br that ainilay thereto. 5.3 Flow-Rate and Prossure of Water” Flow rate required cooling water used for transformers shall not exceed 4 //min for those of Types 1 to 3 and 6 t/min for those of types 4 and 5. ‘The pressure difference between inlet port and exhaust port when cooling water is passed at the flow rate indicated on the nameplate shall not exceed 69 kPa(0.7 kgf/om*t « 6. Rating 6.1 Rated Frequency ‘The rated frequency is 50 Hz or 60 Hz. e 6.2, Rated Input Voltage The rated input voltage (at no-load) is 200'V or 400 V. 6.3 Rated Capacity The rated capacities are as given in Table 1. 6.4 Maximum No-Load Input Voltage The maximum no-load input voltage is 230 V when the rated Input voltage 1s 200 V and 460 V when the rated input voltage is 400 V. 6.5 Maximum Lod Input Voltage The maximum load input voltage is 180 V when the rated Input l-100-V amd 360 V whon the rated voltago is 400 V. 6.6 Maximum Secondary No-Load Voltage The maximum secondary no-load voliage shall bees given Table Te Copyright by the Japanese industrial Standards ‘Tue Aug 24 15:11:22 2007 le JIS €#9347 90 Mm 4933608 0035443 0 mm 3 © 9317-1990 7. When the equivalent voltage adjustment is intended by means of other control device, however, the above requirement is excepted, 8.1.3 Capacity at Bach Tap In the case of tap adjusting type, the capacity at cach tap of transformer at 60 % duty cycle shall have the value calculated from the following formula: Paers (Bo) Pig where, Pp; capacity at each tap (at 60 % duty cycle) (kVA) a: turn ratio at the tap which produces the maximum secondary no-load voltage ar: tum ratio at each tap @ Pat vated capacity (kVA) 8.2 Mechanical Construction 8.2.1 ‘Transformer Terminals The output terminals of a transformer shall be 80 constructed that 2 sets of secondary cables can be connected, ‘and the dimensions should, as a rule, be as given in Figure 1(Type A). When low reactance cables aro used, connecting fittings shall be attached to the terminal of Figure 1, or the terminal of Figure 2 (Type B) shall be employed. Output orana of Pranoene (Type B) Unit: mm es |, 6520 ie e 8.2.2 Piping System for Cooling Water The thickness of the pipes for cooling water abel be that the pressure difference between inlet pert and exhaust port shall not exceed 6?Pa(0.7 ket/om") when the water is passed at the flow rate indicated on the nameplate, and this part of cooling water system shall withstand the water pressure of 290kPa(3kgi/em*) . 8.2.3 Accessories . Transformer shall be provided with lifting fittings and shall be 60 constructed that at least the following component parts can be attached: ) Parts and Piping for Compressed Air The steel pipes of nominal ‘lac 5/8 B shall be uoed for tho piping for compreveed air at inlet port of transformers of Type 1, and those equivalent to nominal size 1/2 B for Types 2 to 5. The components used for the pneumatic system shall, however, withstand the pneumatic pressure of 690kPa(Tkgf/cm*}. (2) Parts and Piping for Cooling Water Transformers should, as a e rule, be provided with the joint of nominal size 3/8 B at the cooling water inlet port, and that of 1/2 B at the exhaust port. (3) Blectrical Operating Components and Wiring 9. Safety 9.1 Transformer Terminals The input terminals and other live parts in primary side shall not be exposed. 9.2 Earth Terminal Transformers shall be provided with earth terminals capable of connecting an earth conductor of cross-sectional area of 14 mm2, and indication for earthing shall be attached to their conspicuous places. 9.3 Lifting Fitting of Transformer Fittings for lifting transformer shall be the eyebolts specified in JIS which withstand a load equal to 15 times the mass of the trensformer (including attachment). Transformers shall further be provided with a lifting fitting for a lifeline (spare -hanging fittings) having enough strength to prevent the transformer (including attachment) e@ from falling down when the main fittings are broken. Copyright by the Japanese Industrial Standards Tue Aug 24 45:19:22 2007 x9317 90 MW 4933b08 0039446 b mm | C-9817-1990 When a transformer is hung with 2 or more points, the angle made by lifting wires attached to a pair of lifting fittings shall be at most 60°. 9.4 Control Power Source Voltage and Operating Ciroult Voltage The control power Bouree voltage shall bo €-c. 100 £10-V, 20020 V of 400 240 V and the nominal voltage of a foot switoh and otehr circuit which are directly operated by an operator shall not exceed 25 V, as a rule and in the case of exceeding this voltage, the anti-electric shock measurement shall be provided under the voltage of 100 V. 10. ‘Test Methods 10.1 Construction Test’ Transformers shall be examined whether they comply with each provision specified in 8. 10.2 Maximum Secondary No-Load Voltage Test The maximum secondary novload Faltaga Test shall be Gareled ost By ioeastaing the secondary no-load voltage when the rated input voltage of the rated frequency is applied to the primary side tap which produces the maximum secondary voltage of the e transformer. 10.3 Exciting Curront Tost The exciting current test shall bo carried out by teasing the exclting current when the rated input voltage of the rated frequency {s applied to the primary side tap which produces the maximum secondary voltage of the transformer. ‘The primary current corresponding to the rated capacity shall be calculated from the following formula: (Bx) 100 where, 7,1 primary current corresponding to rated capacity (A) 1 Pai vated capacity (kVA) E,? tated input voltage (V) 10.4 Temperature Test The temperature test shall be carried out in ac- cordanes with the specific ith the specification in 8.6 in JIS C 9305. e 10.5 Internal Impedance Test The internal impedance test shall be carried out innédiately after the Toupetature test by short-circuiting the secondary terminals of transformer and applying a voltage about 1/3 of the rated input voltage at rated frequency to the primary side tap which produces the maximum secondary voltage. The primary voltage and current shall be measured and the internal impedance (reduced value to secondary) shall be calculated. 10.6 Withstand Voltage Test ‘The withstand voltage test is carried out immediately after temeprature test by applying a substantially sinusoidal voltage described below at a frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz for 1 min between the primary circuit and, the secondary circuit and iron core together earthed. 28+1000 (V) (minimum 1500, V) Where, £ is the maximum induced voltage (V) in the primary winding when the rated primary voltage is applied to the tap which produces the maximum secondary e voltage. () Construction (2) Maximum secondary no-load voltage : (3) Exciting current (4) Temperature rise e (8) Internal impedance (6) Withstand voltage (1D Safety Note (1) Type inspection is the inspection for judgement as to whether or not the quality of product satisfies all the charscteristics ehown in the design. 11.2 Acceptance Inspection (2) The acceptance inspection shall be carried out on the mame product inthe order described below and the product. shall comply with the provisions of 7. to 9. A part or all of these inspection items may, however, be omitted subject to the agreement between the parties concerned: (1) Construction (2) Withstand voltage e@ (8) Safety Note (2) Acceptance inspection is the inspection to judge whether the required characteristics are satisfactory or not, at the time of acceptance of the product based on the same design and manufacturing process as those that have already passed the type inspection. 12, Designation of Product The product shall be designated by the name, type, rated input voltage and vated frequency.
