ASSESSMENT TASK
This assessment is a questionnaire (with a mix of objective and subjective questions).
Research the topics and terms mentioned in the questions below and answer all questions in your own
words.
QUESTIONNAIRE
Think about an organization that is fast growing and opening a second office in a different city.
You are considering to employ a flexible workforce :
1- Discuss how you would plan for the workforce, in particular mention what planning
methods you would use.
This means that the business needs to conduct a external and external talent assessment to see what
qualifications, skills and talents that their work force have. The managers should annalyse whether
they have enough skills and talents in order for the business to succeed.
This is to make sure that the future projects and wokload can be done in a successful manner. The
business shouldplan review future workload and objetives. This was they can gather information on
what the workforce need to accomplish, the level of competence that the staff needs to have to
complete these tasks in the future.
In order to find the gap, the business should carry out a supply and deman assessment of the skills
and talents that the business needs. Identifying the skill surpluses and the deficiencies that are linked
to the strategic work that the business must complete and accomplish.
As you have done the assemsnts to find the talents, the future needs and the gaps that the businesses
have, the business can either hire workforce externally or train the workforce to fill in the gaps. This
means that the business will have the competency to complete the tasks in the present and in the
future.

2- Address how legislation, regulation and policy relate to the flexible work arrangements.
There are several legislation, regulations and policies that will have to be considered when
implementing the flexible works arrangement. Few of these policies are
3- What typical challenges would you face when implementing flexible work arrangements
(name at least 4)?
• It will be a challenge to organize meetings for all the employees at the same time as some
part time employees will not be available
• Reviewing performace of both part time and full time employees in a fair manner
• There wont be good relationship with the employees as they don’t work together all the
time.
• Some employees might require additional supervision to be efficient
4- What strategies would you employ to address the challenges that you have identified
when answering question 3 ?
a) Resolving issues – It is always best to communicate any issues with the managers and
management. This will be helpful to identify what action could be taken in this regard. Therefore
communication is vital to sustain a flexble workforce.
b) Identify support needed – There should be a close relationship with the employees and their
managers. The managers can provide guidance and advise when it comes to tackling all tasks,
regardless of whether is an issue or not.
c) Engage the flexible workforce with other aspects of the organization, its culture and
goals –
• Active communications
• Networking
• Social and team building events
• Meetings
