Groups Alpha Epsilon Pie Fraternity

I'm a proud brother of AEPI, I was an active brother at the Iota Beta Chapter at Illinois
State University for two years. I held three positions in my time as an active brother. I
was Jewish Identity chairmen, Recruitment Chairmen, and Chairmen of Initiate
Education. Each position gave me the opportunity to learn invaluable skills that I use to
this day, and the values the Fraternity hold have molded me into the man I am today.
Without my time and experiences with AEPI, I doubt I would have the same work ethic,
mentality, and opportunity's to succeed
as a blooming young professional

As Jewish Identity Chairmen, I was given the opportunity to expand my own, my

brothers, and the general student bodies of Illinois State, and Heartland CC's self
identity of Judaism through community outreach and service. While not being limited to
only bringing our teachings, and values to just the Jewish Community of
Bloomington/Normal, but to everyone. Teaching my fellow students, and local
members of our community to learn about Judaism, and expand their knowledge and
exposure to the culture.

As Recruitment Chairmen I was able to learn how to interact and vet potential new
recruits and make the most out of limited resources doing so. I learned how to run a
smooth operating committee, creating fun, meaningful and interactive events that
reflected the values of the Fraternity that is was founded on. While at the same time
making sure potential new recruits had the potential to display those very same
qualities. My duties were lead generation through intensive research, establishing
connections with other Greek life organizations, and word of mouth. Personnel
management, I.E making sure each PNM (Potential New Member) had an active
brother as a handler, making sure each PNM was able to safely and conveniently
attend our events while being able to socialize, and educate them about our
organization. And lastly, be able to delegate appropriate tasks to committee members.

And as Chairmen of Initiate Education, I was tasked with educating new members the
core principles and values that the Fraternity was founded on. I came up with a
streamlined 6 week comprehensive curriculum that demanded excellence from our
new member's but in such a way that was both accommodating and rewarding while at
the same time did not take away time, nor energy from their primary objective which is
school work. The last semester I attended in Normal was the smallest class I had to
teach being one, but that very same young man was elected to represent the Fraternity
as our President his following semester after completing my course, because he
understood that his role in the organization is what he makes of it.

American Youth Soccer Organization

I have been a volunteer coach for AYSO since I was 17. I played, coached, and
supported the Skokie AYSO team adhering to their mission statement of "Everyone
plays, everyone has fun." The byproduct of my volunteer work other than the fulfillment
of coaching youth players is that I was given the skills and techniques to teach children
comprehensive soccer tactics while making sure they are engaged and having fun.
This taught me patience, the importance of pre-planning, but also the skill of
Improvising to meet accommodation's and new challenges as they arise all with
nothing but a smile across my face.
