It is common knowledge that China has a long history and glorious history in both arts and traditional
crafts. The arts and crafts are not only the embodiment of the people’s longing for aesthetic beauty
for themselves and as gifts for others but also great treasures for China and the rest of the world.
There is no rigid distinction between arts and craft in Japan. Techniques came to Japan from
neighbouring Asian countries especially China and Korea and have evolved and been refined.
Korean arts and crafts are inspired by the natural world; these beautiful traditional handicrafts are
marked by their use of natural, organic forms and simple adornment.
