Definition. A sectional view or section is a conventional representation in which a part of an object or


machine is imagined to be cut or broken away that, in thus removing the nearer portion, assumed to
be removed, is not omitted in making the other views.
Definition of Terms:
1. Half Section – is a view sometimes used for symmetrical object in which one half is drawn in
section and the other half as a regular exterior view. The cutting plane is imagined to extend
halfway across stopping the axis or center line.

INSTRUCTION: Draw the right side view of a half section. Use bond paper or drawing paper as your
