Content Standard:

 art elements and processes by synthesizing and applying prior knowledge and
skills.

Performance Standard

 create artworks showing the characteristic elements of the arts of South, West,
and Central Asia.

Most Essential Learning Competency:

 Show the relationship of the development of crafts in specific countries in East


Asia according to functionality, traditional specialized expertise and
availability of resources (e.g. pottery, weaving, jewelry, and basketry).

I. Learning Objectives:

a. Identify the characteristics of arts and crafts found in China, Japan and Korea like
painting, pottery and paper arts.
b. Analyze art elements and proportion in the production of arts in China, Japan and
Korea.
c. Create examples of East Asian arts showing understanding of the elements and
principles of arts.

II. Content

III. Procedure
a. Activity:
o Prayer

1. Settle in a quite and convenient place for our session.
2. Be prepared.
3. Turn on your camera.
4. Proper attire.

6. Mute your microphone.

o Motivation
 Directions: Analyze the picture very carefully then supply the
missing letter/s to complete the box.

b. Analysis
o Let us start with our Art session, bring out your pen and paper and
write the important points about our topic. Now, turn your module to
page 4.
 What are the types of Chinese Clothing, Body Accessories and
ornaments and the Chinese pottery?
 The Kogei of Japan. Identify the Attires, Fabrics, tapestries and
the pottery of Japanese.
 The Gong-ye of Korea.
 Identifying the Accessories, Ornaments and tapestries
of Korea.
 Accessories and Body ornaments.
 Korean Pottery

c. Abstraction
 What are the elements and principles of arts being used?
 How do traditional costumes/crafts affect the status of the people
in a society?
 If you were asked to make a craft, which country will you choose?

d. Application
 Directions: Identify the following arts and crafts from East Asian
countries. On your answer sheet, write C for China, J for Japan, and K
for Korea

IV. Evaluation
Activity 1: Mug Painting
Directions: Secure a plain mug and paint it with the patterns or
motifs you have learned from the arts and crafts of East Asia. Be
guided with the materials to be used and the steps to undertake to come
up with a masterpiece. You will be rated according to the rubrics
below.
Materials:
• plain mug
• color paint, acrylic paint or nail polish (use yellow, red, blue, and
white only)
• water color brush
Activity 2: Lotus-Shaped Lantern
Directions: Secure a paper cup to create a beautiful lotus
lantern emanating those from China, Japan, and Korea. Be guided with
the materials to be used and procedures to be followed to come up with
a masterpiece. You will be rated according to the rubrics below.
Materials:
• glue
• colored/construction paper
• paper cup
• scissor
• small tie-wire
